I may be Fifth Generation... but I am Fifth Generation with a Founder's passion!

Thanks for allowing AU to emerge once again and become the #GoldStandard of Mercenary Units once again!

Good morning, and thank you, sir. I want people with a passion for the BattleTech universe and a desire to have an experience as much in the depth of that universe, as possible, to come to AU and share the friendship and passion we have. With amazing people such as yourself, Absolom9, and Traithis McCall, to name a few, involved, we can't go wrong.

OP Updated for streamlined -hopefully- verbiage, updated links, and removal of all sorts of document-based gobblety-****, such as paragraph tags. Not sure how much more I can streamline these without leaving out what I feel is vital information, or losing some of the message I'm trying to convey, but I seem to muddle through each time I edit one of these.

Modified the OP to appear, hopefully, more professional and less-intimidating, to focus on opportunity more than responsibility. The latter things come later, as the MechWarrior eases into their life with AU.

This was originally supposed to be posted on the 6th of September, but I ran out of laptop battery power before I could do so. I had thought to let it go, but that turned out to not make a whole lot of sense. Now that our move is complete, and we're back online, I am catching up on my backlog.

Starting to ramp up the competitive side... but, it has to be done right, without sacrificing the integrity of Armageddon Unlimited, or the natural skill of the MechWarrior's who would compete.

With the current build up toward Community Warfare Phase 2 and the upcoming loyalty Mech give away, no time is better than right now to check out an AU drop.

As you will notice, I have closed several duplicate recruitment threads for this unit, as this falls under the unconstructive/spamming section of the code of conduct and is a punishable offense. So please refrain from creating even more such threads in the future.

Despite Egomane's dislike of us, :), we are always looking for good people to drop with, whether it's as casuals or competitive.

Yes, despite the fact ALL of those threads were created prior to the rules change, and the fact each of them has a different focus that I have worked hard to ensure are unique, with certain basic information included in each for contact purposes, several of our recruitment threads have been closed. I have taken this matter higher, and hope for a complete response to this overbearing moderation, soon.

EDIT: This is not the first time this has happened.

Kay, not to rain on your parade... but I was curious with Egomane posting and locking threads recently... but it was spam. Postings minutes apart from each other copied and pasted... or context slightly changed.

He's just doing his job... we've all got rules here to follow. G'luck with your Mod complaint.

btw you only need one recruitment thread dude lol :P And it wouldn't be the first time units have done this too.

Anyways... here's bump for their recruitment! Hope to see you on the battlefield AU :D

Well, you are raining on my parade, and Egomane overdoes his job on a regular basis. If they wanted people to only have one recruitment thread, they should have done so from the beginning. Now, I have the renewal of these threads timed to go off every four or five days, so I don't overplay them, like 90% of units do with a single thread.

Unfortunately, merc units NEED to be able to advertise and, if you're on the bottom of the pile, what happens? You get NO new recruits, they go to the units who have their listings at the top. Not too long ago, Egomane posted that, if you did nothing significant to renew your recruitment thread, and you were just bumping them, perhaps saying something as little as "Updated OP", the thread would get locked... by Egomane. I saw this happen to a couple of unit threads, because they had a single posting, and they had to bump that posting in order to be seen and noticed. So, unless you update your OP, and then list that you had updated for some manner of significance, and just bumped your thread, you get locked, period.

That is unfair, in the extreme.

So, with the fact that all six of my recruitment threads had been written prior to the new rules about multiple threads and non-significant updates and bumps, and because of the corrosive nature of the rules themselves, I worked hard to differentiate my threads and had been successful in doing so. As well, I timed my threads so each would appear ONCE PER MONTH. This would allow me to rewrite, clarify, or otherwise update each thread in turn, with days in-between, and still maintain some manner of significant recruitment presence in this advertisement-necessary environment.

Enter Egomane, Mr. Overzealous Enforcement of Corrosive Rules, and two of my threads appearing, as a result of people adding their two cents to celebrate the thread, or provide a significant bump, and duh-duhduh-duhhhhhhh "Charge!" What has been done, in this corrosive environment, where I was being little more than enterprising, is wrong, it is a failure of the system, and it needs to be changed.

Thank you for raining, and allowing me to rebut.

Good day, Grendel.

Kay... all I recommend is sticking with one thread. Many of us merc units do, we give it bumps, but it's like adding an advertisement slogan of the day. If you notice your thread falling to the bottom of page 1 or slipped into page 2, give it bump.

Update the original post as much as you want for the fine details needed... hit the thread once or twice a day by a couple of your team. I understand the frustration, completely... new rules are new rules, but we have to respect them.

Don't let moderation discourage you, find a method that works for you and doesn't appear abusive to them ;)
