Hi guys - there are probably plenty of threads out there like this but damned if I could find any heh. Just simply - is it worth it to get elite over veteran? I've been playing WOT since inception and am thinking it would be akin to getting the tier 8 premium M6A2E1 early on? In the end not a tank that people play much now but was a bully in the early part of the game which allowed peeps to grind that much faster etc. Would people say that is the case with the atlas if I go with the Elite? Is it customizable as far a wpns systems etc. or just one size fits all?

Also - do we even know the cost of a month of premium yet? Does that factor into Elite being a better 'deal' than Veteran?

Thanks much in advance,
Boneman

P.s. Can you platoon with friends in closed beta?

We know how much in game currency it costs per day/week/month, but we dont have an exchange rate for ingame:real money yet, so we don't know.

The mech alone makes it worth it. The Founders mechs are the base variants and are just as customizable as any other mech.

Without breaking the NDA, I'll say that yes, the package is worth it to me. Without violating the NDA, I'll also say that the developers have clearly said that the founder's mechs are customizable.

Afaik, this cannot be answered without breaking the NDA.

It's worth it if you want to support the game with moar dosh. It's a nice bonus that we get a sexy 'mech too.

A beta tester broke NDA a couple weeks ago and asked in General Discussion if this was possible.
Another beta tester also broke NDA and told them that they could group up before starting a game.
I have no supporting evidence, because the thread was deleted.
I cannot say if grouping is currently working in beta, because I am not a beta tester.

I'm gonna go against the current and say no it's not.

Veteran is just fine, early acces, $40 worth of in game currency to get started and 1 months of prem access.

Elite gives 1 mech a 25% cash boost,$40 more in game cash, and 1 month extra prem account time. Though, don't get me wrong, i think veteran is enough, i'm personally putting the other $30 inot 3 month of prem account.

Why? because a 50% boost to cash is enough, i'm more after the 50% exp boost. with a 50% exp boost thats only 66% cost to get upgrades and your going to easy i think get to full exp on a mech in under a month, so what then do you do? keep playing the same mech over and over and over? No your gonna to buy a new ride with all that cash your earned and try a new mech, even if it's just a variant and that mech doesn't get a 25% cash boost.

If 50% cash boost isn't enough and $40 worth of start up cash. as Paul has said $80 worth of in game cash will buy you 8 medium mechs. I'm happy taking 4 mdeiums mechs or there same for other chassis and work from there.

Sorry to put a sour note on the devs plans, but i think the cash is better spent on more prem account time than a fancy 25% extra cash boost. if prem accoutn didnt' give such a high cash and exp boost then i'd consider changing my mind. though if you do go elite, then i'd suggest thats it's legendary well, who really reads the players names who made the game? the devs are the people who put in the effort, those with lgendary status just have too much money than cents

25% cbill boost from the founder's mech will far out-earn your 3 months of premium 50% bonus in the long run

without breaking NDA 50% cash boost is more than enough, i got 4 atlas's and cash to burn. what do you do with the c-bills after you got 50 million and 4 atlas's? i could add 4 more ands till have a chunk of change to spare and wait, whats that? another battle victory, chah ching $$$

Is Elite worth it?
Only you can answer that question, by asking the rest of us you will get allot of conflicting statements because what it comes down to is opinion.

A little bit about founders pack:

Premium Account.
This gives you a 50% XP/Cbill Bonus, I have not heard about anything else.

Founders Mechs.
There are 1 of each weight class, these are the prime variant of their weight class, and there are only 2 differences from the non founder mech.
Those differences are a different skin color, and a permanent Cbill bonus.
These mechs can be customized in the same way their non founder counterparts can, with no exceptions or additions.
Veteran Pack gets no mechs
Elite Pack you get to choose 1 mech
Legendary Pack gives you all 4 mechs

Premium Content.
There are absolutely NO premium content.
Everything you can get with a premium account, you can get with a non premium account.
There are NO premium mechs and there are NO Ammo/weapons that are better than what anyone else can get.
Also, there are no tiers like you have in WoT, everything will be available at the start if you have the money, ingame or not, to get it.

Simply put, everyone have access to everything.

The devs have made it clear that there will be no tactical advantage for using Real Money.
There will be vanity items, such as skins, that you can buy with real money, but nothing that gives a tactical advantage.
You can Pay to save time, but anything you can buy with real money you can get with ingame money, it will only take a little longer if you do it with ingame money.

Also remember this if you buy a pack.
The game is currently in Closed Bate, this means that game is not finished yet and there are many things that dont work and things that have yet to be added, so dont expect a game thats 95% complete.

Hope this helps.

I've been happy with my purchase, started out getting the mid-tier founder pack, then decided to go to the Legendary just to support the devs, really.

I'd like to think supporting the devs means a long term commitment to the game, not paying out a huge sum of cash in game terms. Lets face $120 for a F2P is a lot of money. anything more than elite is just being silly in my mind. I'm more than thrilled with my veteran status and from several freinds who have elite and legendary they have asked themselves is the extra really worth it? as the aboe post stated, you get nothing extra for being prem except for a 25% bnous on c-bills for that 1 particular mech, NOT it's variants just that mech.

$30 up front, i'm supporting the devs, $10 a month for the next several years thats supporting the devs. $120 up front, well thats money i can find better things to use with like a new controller and such or do you elites and legendary players feel your that bad at playing you need a 75% bonus c-bills? Isn't 50% extra enough?

i certainly know 50% is way more than enough for me, maybe some people just don't win all that often. an extra 25% over the 50% from prem account on a lossing side is still peanuts, victory is where the c-bills are made

IMHO, the Elite is on the long run the most convenient choice and best value, since lacking the Founder 'Mech, although obviously not crippling to the game experience, will prove more valuable over time. Indeed, of all the 3 options, I find the Veteran a bit lacking, the Elite one the best Value, and the Legendary the one to choose if you really love the game and have the money to spend (it offers lots of goodies, but save for all founder 'Mechs and the honorable mention, not much different from Elite); the brand loyalty choice.

I chose Elite because I thought I didn't need all 4 'Mechs (since I only love the Catapult of all the available choices), I didn't need the honorable mention of my username, and very sincerely, I lacked the funds.

Veteran is better than nothing, although IMO, Elite is the way to go, because that C-Bill Founder 'Mech bonus may come in handy later on.

NDA is in place but as you know, all Founders get beta invites and I am very pleased with the mech I picked.

Im really positive with my purchase. I could have make do with the Vet pack but then again I like this idea so much that I went for Elite. Legendary is too expensive imo, but hey... Yeah I think Elite over Vet is worth every cent.

I'm going to say yes because you get 2x the MC, double Premium, and a Founder's Mech for 60$. The MC alone is 80$, and the 2 months of Premium is 20$; that's not even taking into account the Mech with its skin and lifetime booster. 60$ is the price you'd spend on a new game anyway; which probably won't entertain you anywhere near as long over the next 6 months unless it's something like Guild wars 2 or some other MMO or F2P title. If you were ever a MechWarrior fan and wanted a modern multiplayer made out of it; this is a no-brainer purchase. Veteran's is great and all but you really should try to fund an Elite if you can. They were nice enough to extend the program duration too; so now everyone has more time to get that money together and upgrade.

There is also Living Legends(20$ on Steam for the required game) but unless you're dropping cash for both I suggest banking on this one instead. It won't be long before this game completely overshadows that mod.
