I'd like to think supporting the devs means a long term commitment to the game, not paying out a huge sum of cash in game terms. Lets face $120 for a F2P is a lot of money. anything more than elite is just being silly in my mind. I'm more than thrilled with my veteran status and from several freinds who have elite and legendary they have asked themselves is the extra really worth it? as the aboe post stated, you get nothing extra for being prem except for a 25% bnous on c-bills for that 1 particular mech, NOT it's variants just that mech.

$30 up front, i'm supporting the devs, $10 a month for the next several years thats supporting the devs. $120 up front, well thats money i can find better things to use with like a new controller and such or do you elites and legendary players feel your that bad at playing you need a 75% bonus c-bills? Isn't 50% extra enough?

i certainly know 50% is way more than enough for me, maybe some people just don't win all that often. an extra 25% over the 50% from prem account on a lossing side is still peanuts, victory is where the c-bills are made

Well I would have to agree with Dragonlord on this that its an opinion deal. However, stating that $30 is supporting devs but $120 is just stupid, well thats an opinion that I have to strongly disagree with and state is actually wrong given that there is no actual data to support such a claim. Both are supporting the devs. Depends on your particular circumstances, I am actually proud that I am supporting the devs with the legendary pack. This is a game I have been looking forward to forever. I am constantly playing mmo's from across the board, seeing what everyone is doing and what kind of mmo's ppl are coming up with. I tell people all the time that I can give them the perfect game for them as an mmo, with the exception being a good mech game...now I have my mech mmo and am escatic to be able to do as much as I can personally do myself to makes this game a success. So shame on you for calling me stupid because I was capable of investing more :)

Well I am truly torn on what to do.

I want to support the game and I want a Founder Mech.... but I want more than one but not all four... does that sound off? I want the Atlas and the scout class. The two in between I am not keen on, but that is just me.

I can afford the legendary pack, but for me I am a casual gamer as I only play when I have the spare time, so grinding is something that takes me longer than most as I dont sit there for endless hours grinding in game cash awards. But on the flip since I would be paying, do I get my money worth playing 1 to 2 hours every day or two or three depending on my time available?

I truly love the series but I am stumped on this.

Too bad most of the founder's mechs are so darn ugly :) The jenner looks decent and I could live with a hunchback, but atlas and catapult are just... not my kind of mechs.

If it was a question of if Legendary is worth it over Elite.. well I'd have to go with the "Personal Choice" / "How much of a fan are you?" that kind of answer....

However, Veteran vs Elite... Elite is the best value of all the packages from an overall perspective, without taking into account any subjective or personal viewpoints.

Nay, you'll branch out to other mechs outside of your "Founder's Mech" in no time.

I had veteran and then went up to elite after playing beta for a bit and thinking it was worth the extra money.

OP could always do the same since upgrading your founder package is just one step now.

I really appreciate the thoughtful replies guys - thanks. I was leaning towards Elite as it was and your input solidifies my decision. Thanks also to the dissenting views - I'd hate to live in a world where everyone thinks the same way heh.

I'm sure I'll have plenty of noob questions even after reading the various guides (thank you for those). Until then - see you on the battlefield!

So few people want to admit this. If you're really happy with any of the 4 'mechs available, Elite or better is an amazing deal. I will not be playing a single 'mech offered in the Elite/Legendary Founders' package, and I will be buying a Veteran package.

Hi guys - there are probably plenty of threads out there like this but damned if I could find any heh. Just simply - is it worth it to get elite over veteran? I've been playing WOT since inception and am thinking it would be akin to getting the tier 8 premium M6A2E1 early on? In the end not a tank that people play much now but was a bully in the early part of the game which allowed peeps to grind that much faster etc. Would people say that is the case with the atlas if I go with the Elite? Is it customizable as far a wpns systems etc. or just one size fits all?

Also - do we even know the cost of a month of premium yet? Does that factor into Elite being a better 'deal' than Veteran?

Thanks much in advance,
Boneman

P.s. Can you platoon with friends in closed beta?

For me, it was all about the Founders Mech. I went directly to Elite when I first bought a founders pack. The jump to Legendary was harder for me to make until I was in the Beta.

I'm gonna go against the current and say no it's not.

I can easily follow Hades Trooper's line of thinking. And 25% increased earnings just isn't enough for me I don't think. Let's say I buy Elite and choose a mech. Later in the game I find I prefer another style of mech. So will I play the founder mech just for 25% more? Probably not.

I have 12 or so tanks in WoT. Two 'premium' which earn increased currency. I play the tanks I enjoy and they are all non premium.

So buying Veteran and spending the savings nearly one year of MWO premium account playing ANY mech I want seems a better outcome.

I will say that if Founders where allowed to swap mechs between the four anytime in the games life it'd add some weight but seeing as though legendary gets all four I doubt this will ever happen.

see, thats a decission you have to make for your own... w/o breaking the NDA (i hope) i just say, that my founders mech will do me good service, for a long time...sure will not be the only mech to drive, but i like it, and will use it...

If you don't want to play any of them then why pay for them???

i brought the Elite founders to well simply support the devs anyway i can. I don't have the best income in the world and i'm quite limited
i researched on the two Elite or Vet packs and after pondering for about a month i went out and got the Elite bare in mind at this point i just forked out for a whole new computer and monitor desk and everything else. and I haven't regretted anything.

I could simply waste my money on something stupid in the real world and have nothing to show for it. Or i could help a bunch of great people create their DREAM game based on a underrated universe and table top game.

I actually forked out for the legendary pack at pure impulse.
I saw the packs available, what they offered, and slapped down $120 no questions asked.

Never regretted it.

Not saying everyone should do it that way, best thing to do is as the above poster did.
Do some research, think it over, and then decide.

I see it the other way around mostly :P

I like them all except the Jenner, I would have prefered a commando really :(
Then again that's just me.

In relation to the OP; Yes it's worth it. The Founder's mech with it's bonuses towards XP already make it worth it and you get a nice amount of in-game currency.

IMO eliete is the best one, gives a lot more then you pay for & dosn't require a huge investment.
