Is there a PvE component in this game? Or is it just PvP?

I've been left to understand that if the game is successful you plan to explore PvE or Co Op options, no?

I think thats what he meant, cause like, the game still not ready (or feel ready) at the moment...

IE: need to get this right 1st.

PvP in game and now more building in forums, lol Please keep PvP in game only. Need some outrageous crazy rumors to move attention from bashing. How would Paul must work from home because he stays drunk and refuses to bathe? LOL How would the rumor that Russ's trip to Berlin was actually a coverup for him to secretly meet with his male life partner, Hehe Now to get out the boat oar and stir. How about all the Piranha staff are fighting due to one stole the company bong... All of this is totally untrue.

PVP = game longevity. PVE = a few hours play before boredom. PVP makes it a different game every time, since you always find a rock to your scissors to make things interesting.

I wonder if Paul gets tired of answering that question? That has to be at least the tenth time a Dev has officially stated that...

Tell that to Blizzard. They'd get a nice laugh out of it. Players are re-running those dungeon/raids a million times. Even other Co Ops such as Left 4 Dead can entertain you for a hundred hours before you're sick of it. You have any idea how many Co Op League of legend matches I've played??? My point is you are just flat out wrong, so much so that I'm left to wonder if you've ever played another video game before. Even solo campaigns last more than a few hours or have re-playability. Some kind of Co Op campaign on here vs Clanners would be downright awesome and players would probably run it a dozen times or more. If they charge DLC cash for that I would buy it without a second thought. It would be a great way to farm and with difficulty settings and all the different Mechs you could play it as; it'd entertain for quite a while.

Actually I think the formula goes like this:

Well crafted game = longevity
PVP = game mode
PVE = game mode

Not really. Because they could continually sell PVE campaign packs that you could play with your friends.

Too bad. A PvE mission system would be awesome.

asking for pve in this game is like going to subway and asking for a steak. pve isn't just something you patch in as a feature. it redefines the genre of the game to the point it's easier to just make an entirely separate game.

You can intertwine PVE with PVP. Making more dynamic events -- such as a "defend the dropship for X until we can evacuate..." would be less of a pure pvp slugfest and more of a pve-ish event. Have timers, triggers, audio queues, etc. Hell, even givng some folks access to myrmidon tanks or something until the next phase (back in mechs) would spice it up. Would be far more pug friendly while still getting your pew pew on.

As the official spokesperson of the Galactic United Squirrel League (GUSL) I demand PvE game modes.

Otherwise I will order our Vermont based Squirrel brethren to attack the PGI headquaters!

One of the natural side-effects of the F2P genre is a focus on PvP multiplayer, a setting which is much easier to monetize than PvE. People are just naturally more tempted to pay against other human beings because of the drive to win and cut-throat competition being much stronger than when facing scripted enemies. There's more at stake (and more embarrassment) when you lose against a human than a robot.

Don't get me wrong, because I would love PvE a crapload. But, realistically speaking, the F2P takeover of the gaming market (it's gonna happen eventually, only a matter of time) means that single player games might become outright extinct in the distant future. :)

pve is essential to most games, i mean it will educate new players in the history of the BT universe and it gives them a chance to learn and pilot their mechs, and make them feel like they are involved in the story line.
many new people feel like they are being thrown in at the deep end against players who have already been playing for months and they are correct.
pve gives you something to do while you are not pvp ing and it also gives you a way to make some money, even earn some mechs or weapons as mission rewards
not to mention the opportunities for making more money it would bring.there could be campaign modes/special stages unlockaqble only with mc.
