LONGER Games and more tactics...thats what i ask!!! And it would be perfect

+Be able to costumize more our mechs...like i would like to have 2 gauss on the atlas on each sides...but that would cost a lot to be able to do it...since one side torso weapon structure will change. I think that it could be nice. It would be like to modified a car... lol

I already made a thread on this somewhere....sadly it probably wont come true.

Mine had FPS, and RTS with total war.

Either way, not going to happen.

Fear not my likeminded comrade. There are others with this fantasy, my roommate and I are both hardcore obsessive battletech and total war fans (despite how bad empire napoleon and s2 have sucked - fall was perfect though!)

Any military sci-fi franchise would shine under the Total war game style.
Battletech, the terribly developed DoW series, anything :P .

Oooooh, 40k Epic - *companies* of infantry and armor, titans striding across the battlefield.

The problem with this is that modding capabilities of the engine are too limited to make a mod that has different mechanics on this scale, while making animated mechs and importing them into teh game is possible, it would not be able to function anything as desired. A mod of this scale requires source code and lots of manpower.

I cannot see the Total War model working very well with BattleTech. At least not without simplifying the hell out of it, and loosing a large part of the universe due to that.

The turn-based strategic model from TW would fit battletech quite well considering travel/recharge times for jump ships and the resulting pace of military operations. Combat would be better off if based around smaller numbers of units of course ala mechcommander.

I honestly think the Jihad would be the best time period to set such a game in, as there are both a relative ton of factions and infrastructure like mech factories were being built, captured, and destroyed somewhat regularly compared to other periods in battletech.

They should call it MechLord. :D

I believe these are the droids you are looking for.

Not realtime battles but I'm going to assume it will have some sort of conquerable strategy map to go with the turn based fights.

This should be posted in the general discussion forum, it has nothing to do with the beta.

It looks alright but the new mech designs are kinda meh and its not particularly close to what I imagined.
