BTW the Project Phoenix Ostscout looks great (I also liked the original. Why that was considered unseen il never know :-) ).

I think the Ostscout is the exemplar of Scout role. Get out there fast....find the enemy, Tag them for us......run like hell and avoid.....and keep them honest if they come at you with the Med laser. In later years new tech will allow for more weapons with same scouting capability, but for 3049, it does what its supposed to. Heck even if you go for the version that is weaponless is still is the exemplar.

Hey, I only regretted the twitter account when made. After firing off a few tweets to Russ, Bryan and Paul, Twitter became awesome. It is damn fun chatting briefly with someone you may never have gotten a chance to before.

Social Media is the future for sure. Us old farts have issues with to many remotes on the coffee table fcol. Not sure what will happen when the nest gets emptied.

It certainly is. MechSpecs had to add a Twitter Feed and an RSS Feed at due to people requesting it. It allows folks to get information "on the go" (twitter) or when they have time (RSS) etc.

See there is the difference between generations. Todays generation wishes to be "On the Go"

And I went with the Ostscout, because I'd like to see how the Scout role works as essentially a non-combatant. The Raven packs more punch, and the Narc beacon keeps you actively firing on your targets, so it seems more combat oriented to me.

Don't do Facebook, but from those choices I'd go Wolfhound. The Cappies just don't loan out Ravens to anyone. Wolfhound would be in use with Kurita and Marik through salvage, and Davion and Steiner through the alliance. Makes more sense, and has more pew pew.

However even I can manage a FB account. Not like you have to use it for anything other than what you want it for...(Oddly enough, my mom, who'se nearing 80, is far more active on FB than I am...)

that all depends on what the mission is and what the objectives are and what support you have...


the first assumption is that it's a light 'mech, so that means by default we are on a scouting mission.... which means the raven is the better choice considering the electronics, but the tag does no good if there is nothing to paint for...


if for some strange reason we are using light 'mech's to assult, then the panther or the wolfhound would be a good choice (although i think i would prefer the wolfhound since there are more weapons to lose. one good shot at the panther and the ppc is out of the equation)


the only thing the ostscout has going for it is it's speed, but what good is it to race up and find the enemy when the bulk of your forces are still hours away?

It depends on the use. I voted for Wolfhound. Not a mech I would use for scouting, but for combat I used it on MPBT:Solaris alot and it was one of my favorite mechs.

But the Raven for "neener neener you cant see me."

Hands down the Raven. A better package and an ability to crouch down in light cover. About the only way a tin-man can hide behind light cover is to fall on it's face or roll on it's back.
