Although I can't really find anywhere that gives a good overview for this game. Is it online only? Are there campaign modes?
A love in the old games where you start off in a small, dinky little mech with weak laser to finally siting in your atlas with an arsenal of PPC. I really hope they bring this feeling back.
I know this has probably asked hundreds of times so I apologize and feel free to ignore me.
Anyways, I'm just really excited to get back into a mech again! Thanks in advance.

Also, check out all the videos they've put up; they give you a pretty good idea of what the game is like. If you want to play the game in its closed-beta state, feel free to buy one of the founder's package. Keep in mind that a lot of stuff isn't done, but it is still incredibly fun.

No campaign modes, no PVE, and no single player mode.
And just so its said, there is no point asking for 3rd person view.
There is no 3rd person and it will not be added.
been asked hundreds of times and the devs have made it clear it will not be added, period.

I found this site from a post in another thread which is great: http://mwowiki.org/w...?title=Gameplay
NDA, I guess that's why I couldn't find too much information. It's still under wraps, eh? Well let's hope my beta submission gets approved.
Thanks.

Interesting. I think the fact that we are talking about online PVP means the conditions need to be standardized and provide a level playing field. I've always enjoyed first person view in previous game for the "sim" feeling. I'm definately okay with that provided that they do a good job with the hud, and capturing the essense of "inside of the mech" feeling.

They may not do things the way we ask or expect, but they do listen and seem very reasonable.

You are unfortunately too late for the general Closed Beta invites.
As it stands now there are only 2 ways to get into beta.
1. Buy a founders pack
2. Wait unil Open beta.
If you consider buying a founders pack, I recommend you take the time to read some of the Information on the packs and make an informed decision, and not just buy blindly to get into beta.

Yeah I wonder it too...been waiting too long.
Personally, I think the hype of this game is getting smaller , soon free players will forget this game if they don't start putting up any concrete info like exact open beta date or decent gameplay videos / info about the game.
I already think there's too much of "sh*t talk" like the inner spere news... they are totally made up crap, you gain nothing by reading them.
I don't even understand why they have to post those every single day. When I asked a simple question in the ask sector "How many days before the open beta release will it be announced?" they ignored the question totally.
My motto is "More play, less talk". I don't think those mechs will kill eachother with talking sh*t...

This is a very narrow view of how the MMO community views MWO. There is a large volume of information available to demonstrate the value of the game, the general gameplay, and the feel within the environment.
Look at the Mech Introduction videos, those are pulled from the beta engine that founders and beta invitees are playing. That is gameplay, and is richly detailed. Playing "Negative Nancy" is only going to get you singled out as another Chicken Little, hoping a game will fail so that you can be right in doubting. I'm not saying that is what you are, but you will be perceived as such.
The inner Sphere news is in regards to this fictional world being huge, and defined. This isn't garden trash canon here, this is a living universe in print and media for over two decades. Ignore them if you like, that's fine, however realize that there is a large group of canon die-hards that love to see the current events in 3049.
My suggestion would be to get some education about the game, watch the videos, and perhaps invest some time in learning the basics of the canon on http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Main_Page
