I have no clue I've been patiently waiting for Dust to be released or a key to come my way... Haha.

Hmm, I wonder if I can give you my key. You're welcome to it. I'll look into it and get back to you if I can.

Yes that is what he is saying. Right now the game is only 8v8 and it's planned to have up to 12v12. Which is far from "MMO" numbers.

yet it will have thousands(already has upward of 50000 on the forums) and thousands (hope for millions) of people playing in large factions battling over a territory map that gives real time bonuses to those who hold desirable planets
just because the battles are going to be instanced at the company level (3 lances would be one company and 12 v12) does not mean it is not an mmo hell diablo 3 is an mmo and only 4 people can play together or interact in any significant battle assistance way
i highly doubt a local battle would be larger than a company or two anyway at least most of the time (or a cluster for you clanners)
hell some merc outfits barely have a lance in cannon and then there are the lone wolves (xbox style man solo slaughter) so i see no place in the battle tech universe for tons of mechs running around killing each other ever see the battle tech mmo meme that would happen with much larger battles
so i think this will be a great MMO myself wooot lets go play this mech thing

You, sir, have just contradicted yourself. Diablo is an ARPG. WoW is a MMORPG.

If you are angling for Diablo 3 being MMO due to the massive number of users hosting transactions of items through the use of the Auction House, then on some arbitrary level massively multiplayer stands to reasoning. Which, in the same arbitrary sense, would allow MWO to be considered MMO with respect to the allegiances and battles for territories that occur statistically outside of the context of real-time play.

*Looks off into the corner*

Yes, the judges will allow it.

Hey all! I'm new, just found MWO \after weeks of searching for a mech like MMO.

I could not believe it when I first saw this, a mechwarrior MMO is something that I've only ever dreamed of...

I plan on throwing my money at this game as soon as I possibly can.

Anyways, it seems that the community here is rather active and bustling with activity! How come this game is not more well known? It took me a fair good amount of looking to find it and it wasn't even what I was expecting.. I was expecting to play Age of Armor (though for some reason it seems that they are shutting down) MWO looks great and this greatly exceeds my expectations!

Aaah I need payday! This game must be played.... Here's hoping I can get the legendary pack.

I only found out by updating my video drivers and seeing the founders sale on nvidia's site. All i can say is better late then never and spread the word.

sorry my mistake
but still isn't WOW PVP mostly instanced and has no real affect over territory control?
(note been a loooooooong time scince i played WOW had no intrest in the story and the game became go kill 8 this in a long chain and as i said the PVP was pretty unsatisfying to me the only other kind was random run into an enemy faction player once or twice a year and one guy rapes the other by being 15 to 20 levels up and duels)

i also seem to remember it was anywhere between 7 and 12 people per team but it has been a while

and i thought Blizzard argued that the game was mmo do to the number of people on and the auction house
that could have been a friend of mine though and not them as most of what i learned of the game pre release was through him (his dad does work for blizzard though...)

the game being diablo 3
just to clarify

Yes that is exactly what it means actually. 12v12 matches with a global leaderboard still doesn't make a MMO.

hmmm ok then most mmo's that i play are not in fact mmo's as most of them instance combat at the 1-4 player level ... yet they are WOW style games marketed as mmo's many win awards for being great mmo's
they have thousands of users and leaderboards for each instance some of them don't even have PVP.(though those are not award winners...)
oh they do have a comunity area or town where little avatars can chat in a text box and wave their hands at each other is that what makes it an mmo then the avatars ???? if so why do we want (or care) about the MMO ness of this game? this is a game about giant war machines clobering each other blowing each other up and owning a battlefield personally i think the game would be ruined if it was WOW style and a bar where the pilots hang out between battles would be cool but not really ad or detract much from the game

i mean you don't get a feeling of rarity expense and battle domination power if you have 30 or 50 of the things running around and getting in each others way ever seen the demotivators packed full of mechs and the thing about it being a bad idea? that is the image i think you are talking about to be a "true MMO"

i loved a comment i saw on here somewhere that said it's not an MMO its a MWO you forgot to **** the M cause that is all i care about and i would hate to have people stop playing or never really start because we "proved" that this is not an MMO

in short to me Massively means lots of people play multiplayer means those players can interact with each other to change the game world (or help/hurt each other within it) and online means well.... online
no need for a slash wave or hug or flirt or insult animation.......
i can do that with my Gauss to the head thank you very much

wow i said f l i p and it censored it ....
