Hey man, not everyone is comfortable building computers. I'm one of them and salute those of you who can do it. In my case, I'm lucky to have a buddy who works in the IT field who helps me out. As for Alienware being a good or bad investment; I think that would be a subjective comment. After all; if the machine does what he wants and he's happy, then why hate? Enjoy the fact that there's one more team mate or opponent on the field when you drop on a map. :D

I get where you are coming from, for someone who doesn't know how to do it, it can be very scary to consider doing it. I would suggest to anyone who wants to try to look up Newegg.com's 3 part build your own PC tutorial on youtube, it is VERY informative and worth the watch.

I am 51 years old, Married and I have a supporting wife thats about as interested in gaming as a goldfish is interested in bicycle. She doesn't say anything about my game purchases and I say nothing about her cosmetic purchases. I haven't played BattleTech TT but I have a WarMachine Army, I played AT-44 for a bit and I have a WH40K Army. I've played RPG's (pencil and paper) as well, D20Modern, AD&D 2 ed. and 3.5 Iron Kingdoms. My fave so far as a player has been Rogue Trader RPG. I really liked ChromeHounds and I played MechAssault on the XBOX.

Ok, so I guess I am the weird one of this bunch. Never played TT, but loved D&D.
43, Married with Kids and the wife DOES NOT like all the time I spend gaming.
However, I pay the bills and balance the checkbook, so I just bought it and the new video card without asking.
I suppose if she found out she would be extremely cross with me :P so I am not hiding anything, just not volunteering information!
but I plan time with her (shopping and garage saleing) and the kids (we play DDO together) and we spend Friday night family night together, so I guess its all good. B)

MWO is quickly becoming my mistress, but its better to have an affair with a game then the real thing, right??? :)

27. The wife will be playing MWO too, though, so we'll actually have to get a second computer that can handle it...

You sir are a good husband (if not a bit naughty for not discussing the simulator you just bought) and excellent dad! Welcome to the club!

You need a selection for "divorced" for those of us whose wives made us choose between them and gaming.

Like the old saying...

"Why are divorces so expensive?"
"Because they are worth it!"
