St. Ives does not need to be freed. The Duchess is married to one of the FedCom inner circle, and Duchess Liao is not foolish enough to think our twelve systems could withstand the power of the 217 systems that are currently controlled, by the Capellan Confederation.

Romano Liao is a madwoman, and she is blinded by betrayal and vengeance to her sister Duchess Liao, if the FedCom forces did not stand over St.Ives she would send in the entire CCAF to reduce The Compact to ash just out of spite, hell the Maskiroka, is already doing their thing using subterfuge to make life difficult in The Compact. Romano would reduce our cities to rubble, and make the planets uninhabitable with the full might of the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces, to make an example of those who defect from the Confederation.
