Highest death count, by what measure?

For high death counts, I would recommend most works by Yoshiyuki Tomino that were produced before 1994.
Especially Space Runaway Ideon, Victory Gundam, Aura Battler Dunbine, and Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. Especially the Ideon movie, "Be Invoked".
There is a reason why he's known by such monikers as "'Kill 'Em All' Tomino" and "Tomino the Slaughterer"...
