I remember playing mechwarrior with repair bays (mobile or stationary) in the battlefield. Will this be considered as part of MWO?

If there's going to be a co-op mode, repair bays/trucks would be a nice addition.

But in a multiplayer match, they only prolong the inevitable.

I would hate if they added that in MP

now hold on , mech repair bays would be great, you just have to have some imagination .
Now in an elimination style team death match game with no respawn , such a thing as a repair bay is indeed detrimental to game play.

but for other game modes that are designed to be prolonged battles it could be useful to have asome sort of refit station present.

for example say we have a new game mode which has one team defending , the defending team gets to guard a base with all the perks of a base against waves of other players.

for simplicity say it is a 8 v 8 but the defending team only gets 1 life per player , and also gets base defenses and a repair bay
where as the attacking team gets 3 mechs per player to use or put another way 3 lives per player to take the base from the defenders.

in that case a mech repair bay would fit perfectly into game play.

Yes, it would be stupid NOT to have mech repair bays in whatever game mode. Now if it just a random eight vs eight match in some jungle, then it make no sense to even see a repair bay. But if they have some kind of objective based game, like destroy your enemies base or take out their dropship then yes, I would be shocked to NOT see a repair bay.

i think its a good idea. in pvp it was add a new strategy (destroy repair bay 1st!) :) and ofc in long drawn out fights it will come in handy especially for LRM boats who will useless once their ammo runs out. also i think there should be an option to equip shoes on your mechs like some beefy etnies or some crocks lol (ofc im only joking about the shoes) :P

or some **** flops so you can hear when some one is coming up behind you :)

wow didnt realise f.l.i.p flops was a curse word :P

Gotta say no to this, you might as well put in a health powerup, it's the same thing essentially.

An ammunition replenishment unit would fit. Vulnerable to enemy fire as well.
Following the ammo depleted mech back to its resupply cache will appeal to the scouts and a great kill potential. [mech standing, being reloaded with its bays exposed and portions of armour when the dump gets hit. Nasty]
;)
The in field magic minute repair bases were stupid.

I like the idea of ammo resupply but I think armor repair is a bit much.
I think a mech would have to be very vulnerable during the resupply and I would love to see this when I'm in my light mech.

Repair, not really. Not only it fixes your mistakes (if you are stupid enough to get pounded, you deserve to go down :)), but it also tips the balance in heavier'đ favor, since when you hit the small one once or twice, it probably goes down, but after a lot of pounding, the heavy one has enough time to get repaired and sweep the floor with you.

Sounds like J-27 or J-37 to me...
and, truth be told, I wouldn't want one of theese crawling bombs anywhere near my mech when enemies are near.

This is MechWarrior, not MechAssault. If I see powerups I am simply gone from this game. Mech repair bays were critcal for any military in this universe, and to stay with the canon. They need to be in the game. If you simply cannot stop someone from using a repair bay in what ever mech you are in, then why are you a mech pilot?

I would support a repair bay that completely restores all spent ammunition and restores a small amount of armor. Missing sections would still be missing. And you should be somewhat vulnerable while in the bay. Say if it was destroyed while you were in or near it you take a large amount of damage. And at the end of the battle, the ammo and armor you had restored during the fight would be subtracted out of your winnings.

If they do the mech repair bay, what about using the repair bay you see in MechCommander 2? (those who played know what I am talking about) or you could use the MFB trucks you see in MechWarrior 3.

 NO.NO.NO.
i just had a image in my head with the whole team camping around these repair units.... that would destroy every gameplay
mechs near there could deal with unlimited damage by always going back. where the **** would be the balancing?

maybe in some mode with infinite respawns & repairing takes as long as respawning and count as a death <_<.... but i havent heard of such a mode yet

the idea with the ammo refill sounds good, but its simply not needed and would remove the sense of sparing space (or weight) for ammo in your mech slots...

God, you guys are such babies, you care more about balance than canon or truth in a series of any video games which is why most modern games suck. MFB's are critical to any army in the MechWarrior universe and they need to be their. If you are too stupid to stop players from repairing outright then you should not play. If a player is healing in a MFB while his lance covers him and protects him, that is not camping morons. That is tactically protecting our own resources to advance your own goals.
