I agree, it's way too big. 150px is a TON of vertical space... I would make it 100px tall maximum, and even that is huge, ideally I would pick 80px. My sig is only 60px tall and I think anything much bigger than that is getting distracting and annoying.

Not to call anybody out, but some of you guys in this very thread have the kinds of signatures I'm talking about

When I try to upload a signature, it says the max size is 720x80 pixels. Nobody on this site has a signature that small. How do I make mine bigger?

We have begun to limit signature sizes, due to the really large images being abused in previous signatures. If a signature is found to be too large we'll be removing them on a case by case basis.

I did not see this mentioned here but you can set "Ignore all signatures when reading topics" here:

Your control panel Settings 'Ignore' Preferences

I turned this on day one as soon as I saw bigger sigs then content. This has made the board far more readable.

-Look at this, I see a few of you who "Requested this" has to big of a signature..... (Zendric, CoffiNail) I personally change mine every year or so.... Height has always been 150px..... This limit to 80px is just stupid in an artistic way.

Agreed, this is pretty ignorant... something like 650 x 150 would be more like it, and up to 7 to 10 lines would be best. I can't even get my link put into my image, now, so when you click the image it opens the link, because whenever I go to edit it, I'm told I'm only allowed four lines. That's really a silliness.

Yeah, I agree, 80 pixels for the height is pretty ridiculously small. You can barely see mine.

I just got around to making myself a sig and I started with a 120 height as well. Had to go back and start over again to accommodate the 80px height.

When you insert you image you need to also insert the html code that calls for an external website just like in my signature.

Thank you for now doing this. Some sigs were beginning to get outrageous and the limitations are perfect in my opinion.

I appreciate that some posters are put off by this limit but come on guys, how much junk do you need to stick there?

A good sig should be short and sweet, we don't need an image taking up more that 4 times your post when all it says is your forum name. We can see that right above your avatar.

I wonder why my banner that I put in my signature is visable only while I'm logged in? this is quite strange.

Oh, just noticed that whenever I am not logged in I can't see signature pics at all I mean not only mine but of other ppl.
