Once upon a time I played MW3 and battletech or a group, had used a program that would input the victories to shape the IS. The Khan of whichever clan or IS family was able to build X amount of mechs, control factories, costs, built dropships etc. Which then gave an overall sense of strategy and semi-persistency to the world they had created.
I understand that the merc corps alter the control of border planets based on whichever faction they're supporting, and that every match has its results transmitted to a master server. I was hoping or I guess wondering, if anyone else is familiar with what I'm talking about and if some overall strategy game aspects would be implemented.
When it comes to defense and attack scenarios, say that your merc base that's been paid to defend an area, has set up a base of operations, which they can upgrade the defenses etc or have spacehips in orbit which then reduce the amount of available mechs able to land to invade a target. Something that gives the game more realistic sense.
Does anyone else remember the program battletech used for this? it was maybe 5 megs at best.
Feel free to criticize constructively, as I'm not fully aware of all the developer blogs.
