The branth on the other hand:

When humans first explored the world of Lopez, they were amazed by what they found. The branth were "living dragons" straight out of the tales and myths of old Terra. Right down to the large leathery wings, scaled hides, and sharp teeth. Though they lack the flaming breath, they do spit a poisonous substance to which most humans have an allergic reaction.

Sounds like they'd be pretty popular with the Kurita crowd. (As an aside, the BranthKeepers seem to be the environmentalist group doing the protesting. Is anyone else starting to notice how much Andurien-related news we've been seeing over the past few months?)

I will say I have noticed a lot of "odd" news.. I would think the news would be more "house v House" or Industrial (XYZ started building ABC, or XYZ announced the latest in pulse laser technology today or the newest Mech from XYZ was displayed today) that kind of stuff..

This piece of "news" and the previous "news" about some planet needing a water purification plant, etc.. seems like a lot of Non-sequitur and has little to do with the upcoming game.. its kind of disappointing.

That is unless peace loving animal rights activists are going to start hiring Mercs to somehow take care of their grievance..? Which to me I cant even think of a way that would work.

Anduriens....always causing trouble in the FWL. It seems every state has it version: Skye in Steiner, the FRR in Kurita (well i guess not anymore now that they are independent), St Ives in the CC, the WOB in Comstar, and I guess the Draconis March in the Fed Suns (not quite the same but they casue troble in their own way).

Hmm, these seemingly unimportant news articles could be leads into how merc units gain income from planetary resources. Whether it be additional income from economy (goods sold) of a planet to just manufacturing and infrastructure. Something to think about.

I see aagreat deal of subltly at play here. Has anyone actually compiled these news releases into a single site? It would areally be interesting to see how all these little threads come together into a tapestry. I can't help but think that more is being given to us than we are really aware of. Maybe SAFE should check it out? Wait a minute maybe some one else needs to look at this.
