In past MW games, people with names like ClanLeet_xXxl337KillaxXx would be pretty good at the game, but they would boast such a huge ego and get REALLY upset if they lost.

I feel sorry for people that use MW as a way to boost their ego. What happened to having fun with a video game? Oh **** I lost...oh well. At least I can play again or I could turn off the game and enjoy some fresh air.

I was pretty good at some of the past MW games, but I didn't go around trash talking everyone and raging on anyone who thought they were better.

Please everyone, let's just enjoy this game, have fun, and chill out this time. :)

I can't see the point you're trying to make here...

Here lies the answer to your question. Some people do not have a real life, so they wave their e-peens waiting for the day that having a lot of cbills will win them a date, even with a friend.

Actually, what are you on about again?

People thought they were going to trade in their league winnings like Pepsi points and redeem a helicopter.

Great entrance to the topic. You don't discuss it, but instead call me a troll.

Well, you make a topic about how people have "huge egos", how you "feel sorry for them" and how you can go outside and get some fresh air (implying others are incapable of such a feat), as well as implying (Blake knows why) that others' idea of "fun" is wrong. I'm a casual gamer, but maybe some people are enjoying playing the game "seriously", enjoying the competitive aspect of it primarily. What do you know and who are you to judge? Live and let live, instead of "feeling sorry for them".

I don't see what your point could possibly be besides boosting your own ego by declaring how normal and "chilled" you are. So yeah, basically it's a thinly veiled "I'm better than you lot". Your idea of fun and way to play the game isn't everybody's idea of fun and way to play the game. I remain unsympathetic.

Discussed enough?

You get that in every multiplayer game though and it comes with the territory though
Your logged into the Internet with a persona no one knows who you are and your controlling a giant death machine. Let the people with those egos keep those egos and let the casual player be a casual player it's the competitive nature of all mankind there isn't a point in anyone's lives where you haven't gone " I'm better than you at this " and the other person decides to test that and you win then you trash talk or you lose then you complain. There are hundreds of times of this happening and most of it is when you first start going to school because your trying to place your dominance over everything and that doesnt stop.

I'm saying that going outside or doing something else instead of insulting people is a good idea. Where did I say anything about people not being able to go outside? The chat rooms on the MSN Gaming Zone were rediculous, even getting down to death threats over a video game. No one is making millions from winning 90% of the time.

So you're still just saying I'm trolling. I had fun in past MW games playing in leagues and also playing casually. Both are different types of fun. I'm not saying don't play competitively, I'm asking people to not turn it into a name calling hate fest of clashing egos. Pretty easy to understand.

But keep calling me a troll, it's your opinion. We're all free to express opinions.

Fair enough on the trash talking part, it's never appreciated. All I'm saying is that starting a thread saying that you pity someone isn't the way to go IMO. Maybe that was unintended, but it does look like somewhat-subtle trolling at first glance, especially with the mockingly worded title.

People have opinions and attitudes, but saying that you "feel sorry for them" publicly is unlikely to result in those trash talking people fixing their wicked ways - if they happen across this thread, they may be annoyed at your patronizing. People who already agree with you will keep agreeing and go about their business. Nothing will change like that.

I generally agree with the general message, but the way you expressed it originally basically makes a possibly well-meaning thread look like you've got a chip on your shoulder yourself.

I don't see where it's a bad thing to encourage some sportsmanship and camaraderie. How many games over the years have been bludgeoned to death because the trash-talkers drove everyone else away by "enjoying things their way". Not just video games, either - anyone remember "Photon"? That was a pretty cool laser-tag type game with arenas in lots of cities. It was quite fun - until they got taken over by 'teh uber-l33t'. Then they died because everyone left.

I have zero right to tell someone how they should enjoy a game (or anything else) but when their method of expression impacts *my* enjoyment, they've just involved me.

Of course, none of that will ever change. :D It'd be nice, but it won't happen. So the only real choice is to have a very thick skin in order to enjoy the game, or choose to do something else.
