Hello I'm thinking in getting the Founder Package but I have 2 questions:

My only experience in the BattleTech world is from the PC-Game Mechwarrior4 and I loved, How much different is Mechwarrior online compared to that, I'm not asking about exact detaild under NDA but I would like if the game is more arcade or more tactical or if the Mechlab it more complex or has less options.

Also my current system is a Phenom 960T, 8GB and a GeForce GT 520, the graphical surely isn't going to work but I'm planning to change it. Is there any recommendations of graphical cards to play Mechwarrior Online?

Nobody in beta can tell you anything, not even general stuff like that- the NDA doesn't just cover exact details.

Best thing to do is read all the information from the devs and watch the videos they've released and then decide whether you want to buy a founder's pack and beta test now, or wait until the game gets to open beta and try it for free then.

It's not really a secret as to how MWO is different than MW4. If you played MW4 like it was supposed to, that means as a giant robot "simulation" with cockpit view, mixed weapon load-outs etc., you will most likely love MWO. If you played MW4 like most people at the end, that is with a Gladiator filled wit PPC or Gauss, humping a hill in 3rd-person view to just pop up with your jump jets and snipe at the enemy who was doing the same, well then you most likely won't like MWO.
Based on the videos available you can see that the Mechlab offers a huge variety on possible load-outs for the different mechs and it's not unlike MW4, because it's also based on hardpoints for the different weapon categories (Gauss only goes in ballistic slot etc.). I'm not sure if it is more complex than the MW4-Lab, but it certainly isn't less.
All in all if you liked one of the previous MW-titles, the chances are high you will also like MWO. It will most likely be a bit less arcade-ish than MW4 and lean more towards the older MW-games and the Battletech tabletop rules.

Just wait till open Beta and check it out for free if you're not sure you want to invest money, but if you are a fan of the MW-series, I don't think you can go wrong by buying a Founders Pack :D

If it's less arcade than MW4 I think I will like it even more. Yes I hated the PPC loaded jumping mechs (but they were very effective in the battlefield) also I love the Catapult so I think getting the founders will be good :D

There is a hift from 3rd to 1st person view (since 3rd person is out). If you take a look at the cpontrols, they resemble the ones of MW2/3, not MW4, so skill probably won't carry through.

That's probably as much as I could get from the research of the game compared to the MW4.

NDA, can't really say.

However, I can tell you Mechwarrior 4 was an utterly terrible game and if you play MW1,2, 3, or even Mechwarrior 3025, you'll get something much closer to actual battletech and that should help you judge.

I suggest doing those before making any decisions.

Also the words effective and PPC do not belong in a sentence describing MW4. PPCs did not work in MW4. Not when I played it for years. I literally have hit mechs, not even assault mechs, over 40 times in the same torso spots with PPCs in MW4 and they didn't go nuclear and destroy the entire continent, which is what would happen in any other mw or bt game.

As far as the concerns about your system running it, the minimum/recommended specs are listed here. You more than meet the minimums, and should be fine to play it, even with your current graphics card.

to generally speak: MWO will be close enough to MW4 to make you feel home, and different enough to just be better :)

I want to start off by saying welcome to MWO, always nice with a new face here.

On the less arcade aspect I can say this.
This game in First person only, and places you in the cockpit of the mech.
The devs have made it clear that they will not add 3rd person, so you dont have to worry about the arcade thing.
This is a mech simulation game the way it is supposed to be.

If you have not done so already, I strongly recommend you watch some of the gameplay videos.
They should give you a good idea of how the game is played.

I have posted the following allot of times by now in threads where people are considering buying the founders packs.
You may already have seen it in another thread, but I still would like to offer you some friendly advice about the founders packs.

If you buy a founders pack, you will also get access to the current CLOSED BETA.

If you consider buying a founders pack, I recommend you take the time to read some of the Information on the packs and make an informed decision, and not just buy blindly to get into beta.

This is a real beta and not a preview of how the game will be when released.
Do not expect the game to be feature complete, bug free and expect performance issues.

Many have blindly bought the founders pack only for the beta access thinking they will see a "pre-release Demo" and not an actual beta, and get so disappointed they come to the forums and rage over how this game is buggy and whatnot and make blatant uninformed statements about how the game will fail.

All feedback is welcome, both positive and negative, and you will get far better responses if you are constructive with your feedback, and not post threads that just boils down to "This game sux", or you will get the community telling you "Its Beta".

Before you post feedback, take the time to read the stickies(Pinned) and other information around the forums, as in all likelihood the things you want to bring up has been explained already.
Dont let that discourage you from adding your opinion on things though, as long as you are constructive about it.

I'm not trying to discourage you from buying the packs, just trying to help you understand what you are getting when buying the packs.

Hope you will take this advice in the spirit it is offered, and that you find it helpful.

Be advised that the founders packs sale ends on September 6th, in 2 days, so if you want it you have to act soon.
