Two entire different companies making this. Mechwarrior:TC we have known for a very long time, it is also being made and published under MekTek and their team. It is being made for iSO devices. URL for this is as you posted at :http://www.mechwarriortc.com/

Mechwarrior: Tactics is going to be a "Free-to-play" game for the PC, it is being published by IGP (Infinite Game Publishing), the same publishers of our MW:Online. It is also announced as the "sister project" by Russ on the official Classic Battletech twitter a few minutes ago even though it is being done through another dev team.
The URL for this NEWLY announced game is at http://www.mwtactics.com/

Both are different URLs and both are registered by different parties.

And here i was hoping for a REAL Mechcommander 3 game based on, maybe, the DOW II Engine . .
Just like i was hoping for a REAL Mechwarrior 5 game based on a good engine with single player . . .

I'm clueless at this point. Maybe it's an RTS game like 'Mech Commander.

It seems that we have ANOTHER Mechwarrior game coming this year for the PC

http://www.mwtactics.com/

This one is done by Infinite Game Publishing, the same group publishing MW:Online (so I assume it will be safe to talk about it here)

Let speculations go wild!
What we know at NGNG, NGNG bringing you up to the minute news! (/plug)

* For the PC
* Free To Play from E-mail sent to us
"Thank you for registering your Commander name for an exciting new Free to Play offering from the MechWarrior universe. You will be receiving more news soon!

You can always talk about other games in Off Topic B)

And yeah, we're all excited about it. I probably know as much as most of you (except Cattra, who always knows before anyone else.)

A lot of the logo looks isometric, so I'm assuming the game is going to use some kind of isometric grid. Still, if it ends up being nothing more than a flash-based game, I can't see myself getting too into it. Casual games really just don't cut mustard for me.

Great to see MWT announced! The guys at RHI and ACRONYM have been working very hard on this MW game.

Now to find out more details... what type of 'mechwarrior' game is this? Obviously it will be something non-sim, mechcommander? Tabletop?

Both dev teams working on it have made 'social online games' in the past and one made family guy online so it will probably be a browser based game of the same type but with mechwarrior.

Granted its likely not the next MechCommander game, but any exposure the Battletech license can get has to be a positive, right? Introducing the universe we've all known and loved for the past two and a half decades to the next generation, even as a Facebook game, might make getting the true triple A Mechwarrior or MechCommander (with a lovingly crafted single player experience full of cheesy live action FMV's) released a reality. So yes, I registered (even managed to get my name Phelan, had to settle on his mech Grinner for MWO as it was already taken), and I will dutifully waste away valuable work time moving my little mechs around, dreaming of the day that the Battletech franchise reclaims its rightful place as one of the premier sci-fi universes available to gamers.

Well potentially might not be as simple as a facebook game, looking into the "Unity" games development tool (appears both Acronym and RHI are very clued up with it) it appears it can create fairly complex online games, i.e. Battlestar Galactica Online and Interstellar marines to name only two. So with capabilities like that you may well see a new "Mechcommander" of sorts launched as an online browser based game. Either way very exciting times for the Battletech IP and certainly a Mech filled 2012. (It's like all these developers have been completely holding out on us)

This is crazy! All those years of nothing, and now out of seemingly no where we have not one, but three different Mechwarrior titles coming out at the same time. I had no plans to try the I-OS game, but in a strange twist of fate I won an I-pad today so I'm exited on all of the Mechwarrior fronts right now.

EDIT: Oh wait i mixed it up with the "soadagame" - sry guys.
Here some new info for you:
On Twitter via https://twitter.com/#!/MWTactics
"mwtactics will not be a FB game, no worries!"

Ironclad's game: http://www.soadagame.com/newsletter/
it is very likely to be a 3d Strategy game.
They hired people lately and the description red:
"Award winning Ironclad Games is in the middle of a revolutionary new game and now is your opportunity to make your mark with your versatile programming skills."
And also:
Bonus:
"You have played and have an in depth understanding of Sins of a Solar Empire."

There you have it. The applicant should love RTS games and the "revolutionary game" is very likely MechWarrior Tactics - because, after all, Iron Clad is a very small team. I doubt they have several different projects under their wraps at once.

No sir, this will be a browser based game like that of Battlestar Galactica: Online rather then that of Farmville.

Yeah more like this or Age of Empires Online rather than farmville....

Cool for me since it will most likely run in Linux :(
