Wow I actually... I really like the mech designs. Ok Ok its not battletech, I know, but I like that. Mech commander didn't follow the tabletop rules either and I really liked it. A game in the spirit of Mechwarrior/Battletech is interesting enough to me, not every game needs to be a straight clone of every minute detail of every splinter of cannon.

So, I do like the direction of MWO, but, I also like the direction of MWT.

I am also a Gundam fan.

And we can see from these unit more then just art direction. Look at the hunchback, for example, it has the huge AC/20 but it also has a giant gatling gun on its arm, something that would never fly. So we can see that this game is taking a totally different route for customization and that it isn't going to follow cannon variants or established customization rules in the slightest. Which I am fine with- neither Mech commander was any different.

The Clans had very limited Atlas II, either way in 3025 why would we still see a Clan mech?

We wouldn't, unless they meant to allow people who enjoy the Clans to play as well, just keep them in the Pentagon worlds.

Or just that you can have any allegiance you want, without the tech. If you could have a ghost bear insignia/etc, but couldn't use the Clan mechs...would you still do it because you like Ghost Bears?

You know... the CGB fan in me wants to say yes, but the lore part of me says no. :P

Patience I think they had a glitch on the reveal, more info should be up on their site soon. In short it is turn based/collectible awesomeness.

I'm thinking... Nanovor-esque.

Turn-based Mechwarrior Strategy game you say?

Posted Image

But it is a bit of a letdown because we all know that its going to be a strategy-based game and all we got is a splashscreen.
It would feel a whole lot better if they actually give us a more specific release date...like which quarter and so on and so forth.

Loving the mech designs, some are pretty good(the stalker is the best i've seen!), some are ok but the HUNCHBACK? I dunno what that is!?

Oh good, I'm not the only one who spotted the Clan Coyote logo on the Atlas.

Look at the head of the Atlas - it looks like it's crying.

Crying tears of shame. :P

I had the countdown up on a browser window overnight and into the morning, come back after noon to be shown what is apparently an Atlas (apparently) amongst other 'Mechs, only a couple of which I could identify (is that a Jenner?).

And no other information (oh, wait, Facebook again? I'm still not making an account).

Overall, it's kind of a bummer for me. I am definately not impressed by the 'Mech designs. Somebody took artistic license a step over the (i.e. "my") line.

Of course, I don't have to play if I don't want to, but...I was hoping to like it from the start.

Don't know if want. Not enough information yet, but that Atlas looks too Dark Age for my taste.

I must say I am still looking forward to this game quite a bit. Seems like it will be a MMO with persistent world(? we can wish right) but in the style of hopefully of MegaMek.

I am alright with this and I keep throwing money at the screen but it does nothing.
Sure the name "mechwarrior" on it could be misleading, would be great if it was called "battletech" but ah well, still willing to give it a chance and excited for more information.

Also;
Congrats to Mr. Norris on Facebook for being the first one to call it Vaporware. ;)

I remember when I called everything vaporware, then I got my knee shattered by Bruce Lee, after taking both Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee on in a fight, beat Mr. Norris, and nearly had Bruce, oh well, I'll get him next time.

"Decoster" reserved. Interestingly enough, no option to put spaces in your commanders' name like in MW:O... Also limited to 12 characters....
