If the devs are planning a price difference between 'Mechs based on House affiliation, will they also make certain 'Mechs exclusive to certain groups - like how the Annihilator is apparently exclusive to the Wolf's Dragoons until the Jihad (3067-3081), or the Spector is apparently exclusive to McCarron's Armored Calvary until 3053?
Or very, very, expensive to anyone not in said specific groups?

So basically what you're saying is, if you don't have enough money before the Jihad, then getting an Annihilator will be very expensive?

It's probably too slow for me, anyway.
Edit, I'm thinking, rare 'Mechs like the Annihilator would be extremely expensive - the production costs for Clan Assaults would be around 20 million C-bills, if I'm not mistaken, and that's to say nothing of their actual market value.
It also seems as though the Dragoons have brought some of the last few ever produced with them; I'm not sure, but I got the impression that no more units would be produced until 3060+ or even later.

I was more posing the question, "How, if at all, will the system the Devs have stated to be in place for buying "out-of-House" 'Mechs vs "in-House" 'Mechs work as far as 'Mechs that were canonically available only to a select, non-House unit?"
(Hoping one of said Devs will bestow upon us a complete and comprehensive answer to said question...)

This is strictly PvP game, and the only selection you currently have for loyalty is Innersphere House, Merc Company, or Lone Wolf. So the likelihood of piloting one this is very slim. They may be available on the market, but it seems to me that in the middle of a war (invasion) that unseen 100 ton mechs would be very hard to come by if you weren't directly fighting the clans.

That being said, I think the mech is too slow for my tastes. Even with all that firepower, if anyone closes with you, you will have a hard time keeping your guns on them.

Perhaps I'm mis-remembering, but didn't the the Devs once mention that some of the "big-name unit" names (Wolf's Dragoons, Eridani Light Horse, Gray Death Legion, Kell Hounds, McCarron's Armored Calvary, and the like) would be reserved and unavailable for player use?

If so... perhaps such "big-name units" might be set up like "mini-Houses" for Merc Corp players interested in joining such a prestigious unit?
Might membership in such prestigious - and exclusive - units then grant access to unit-exclusive 'Mechs like the Annihilator and Spector?
(Again, hoping that one of the Devs will bestow upon us a complete and comprehensive answer to these questions...)

I like sunder, does not have the thump of the anhiliator but faster and could still take a hit.
Honestly never had much love for the assault mechs though.

I full expect to see certain 'Mechs be cash shop purchases along with modules probably. It's to early for specialized AC munitions, but they might sneak them in to make money. Probably focus on rare 'Mechs or highly popular 'Mechs though. Kind of like how Star Trek Online has a bunch of cash shop ships that are designed to appeal to long time fans.

Well...the Annihilator was introduced in the Wolf Dragoons sourcebook, which is set around 3029/3030. So yes, it's allready here, but only within the Dragoons - and it seems they don't want to share that design.
