So another big chunk of plastic and resin cut, sanded and primed and the result is one kick-*** mech.

I always like the design of this mech, it just seems so logical and perfect.

"Initially designed by Clan Snow Raven engineers as a breakthrough in BattleMech design philosophies, the Deimos takes its name from the project of the same name which resulted in the first faster-than-light (FTL) drive. To provide ample protection, the Deimos is built upon a space-saving standard internal structure with fifteen and a half tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor. At its heart, a massive 350 XL engine allows for a top speed of just over 70 km/h, making the 'Mech both one of fastest and most well-armored for its weight. Additionally, while not present on the chassis, the Deimos allows for the installation of jump jets as well as an Active Probe for long-range configurations.
While heralded at first as a modern marvel, a critical design flaw within the Deimos internal structure cropped up during production; this would severely limit the size of weaponry that could be installed, hurting its potential."

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my presciousssssssssssss! It's my most used mech in Mektek Mechpak. Shame it won't make it into MWO ;) or does it? ( a reallyreallyreally smalllittletinymicroscopic chance i hope). But yeah i would sell my soul to McKenna if it would happen.

As for the model, it is an impressive job mate, hats off!

In case you didn't know... The Diemos was created by MekTek, then canonized by CGL.

Great. It is the first Deimos I seen built from the paper plans, in either paper or plastic. It is one of my to do builds but due to lack of time havn't came around to built it.

I see Mektek is also selling a Deimos over at there store for those who are interested.

I have to admit, I stay far away from the Mektek mechs when in MW4. I remember trying to kill an Ares and finding out that the CT hitbox was almost impossible to hit, and it was ugly watching them kitbash some of those together (Warthog...ew). The Deimos was a good mech, but I'd been turned off of all the Mektek designs by the time it came out. If your build of it had been out in the world a lot earlier, I would have had second thoughts. That is really good work!

man I love your scale model deimos, wish there were kits commercially available.

interesting fact: the original designer of the deimos was a US marine who is now MIA (at least according to Mektek)... :)

If you guys appreciate the Deimos, you can say thanks to the guy who created it, he frequents these forums (verybad). From what I understand though, somewhere in the legal fine print, any of the MekTek mechs could be appropriated by MS or licensees of the MechWarrior IP and use them without paying royalties... which is what Catalyst supposedly has done with the Deimos. Pretty cheesy move IMHO.

So will the Deimos be in MWO? If some one already answered that I missed it.

Nope, MWO takes place in 3050, the Deimos prototype won't show up till 3084.
Also, one day in 2013 is the same as one day ingame, so it's still gonna take 34 years for a Deimos to show up.

The funny part is: The Deimos is a Creation from Mektek for the Mechwarrior 4 Mekpaks...so there is a possibility that MWO may one day get its "own" Battlemech...and im not talking from Hero-Mech's...

Anyway, i still want my Bushwacker.
