Wolfhound... light Centurion and thus it has really small chance of making it into the game at all.

I think the wolfhound has a pretty good chance- its among the 5 or so most common/iconic Inner Sphere light mechs. (Raven, Flea, Wolfhound, Jenner, Owens)
If it doesnt make it for the inital release, I would say it would get released via the F2P model of frequent additional stuff.

Also, I like the Davion style/ideology/paraphenalia/regiments more than I like the Combine.

Don't forget. Phalen Kell was piloting a Wolfhound when the Clans invaded, sometime this summer. So it's entirely possible that it will make it since it does play a role in canon. Compared to say.. the Bushwacker....

Doing this from work and from memory but :
Light Mech : Jenner JR7-D (More Modern : Jenner JR7-K)
Medium Mech : Hunchback HBK-4J (More Modern mech : Wolverine WVR-7K)
Heavy Mech : Marauder MAD-3R (Also, more current Grand Dragon DRG-5K)
Assault Mech : Victor VTR-9K

Those are the ones that I remember Kurita having access to in 3050. The ones I really like come out about 4-5 years later, or are from other houses.

I think the Victor is Davion/St.Ives exclusive. But the Dracs do produce the Atlas.
And don't forget the Wolftrap.

I believe theres an LL variant of the Dragon which I prefer (I dont have MegaMek pulled up so I cant quote build designation). I tend to dislike ammo based mechs; they have a nasty tendency to run dry or explode.

Just for the sake of completion, this is what the assignment table in the 3052 Era Report says for 3039-3050 ->

Light: Commando, Spider, Locust, Panther, Jenner, Wasp, Mongoose
Medium: Kitaro, Whitworth, Phoenix Hawk,Wolverine, Sentinel, Griffin, Hunchback, Wolf Trap, Crab, Dervish
Heavy: Grasshopper, Archer, Quickdraw, JagerMech, Marauder, Dragon, Grand Dragon, Marauder, Crusader
Assault: BattleMaster, Mauler, Hatamoto-Chi, Victor, Atlas, Katana, Charger, BattleMaster, Cyclops

Of course, I don't think even half of them will actually make it into the game.
From the ones announced so far I'm currently leaning towards the Jenner.

The Thug has always held a special place in my heart, and the 11K is an especially handy design. C3 networking is a wonderful thing, and having the ECM system in there (Which can also be used as ECCM) is a great bonus.

Beyond that, I also have love for the No-Dachi-2KC, the Venom, as well as a few variants of the Wolverine, esp the 6K and later variant with Pulse Lasers and Dual SRM6'es.

I would say the Shugenja (The art used to bother me, but now I've learned to look past that) is a well conceived design, but if I were a 'mechwarrior, I'd be ill suited to using it - Multitasking is not my strongest suit, and I doubt I could coordinate a C3 network on-the-fly.

I've always had a thing for the No-Dachi. The mixture of long range weapons, that allow you to do some damage from far away. And then you close in with some slice n dice action.

Actually, thanks to the 3050 TRO, I can provide this for you :
"It is ironic that the Victor is no longer produced in the Federated Commonwealth. Despite all the advance planning, the Draconis Combine's offensive in the War of 3039 captured the world of Quentin and with it, Independence Weaponry, the Federated Commonwealth's only producer of the Victor. House Kurita now produces the upgraded design for its own regiments, and the Federated Commonwealth is reduced to purchasing the entire output of the HildCo Interplanetary factory in the St. Ives Compact."

So, as of 3039, Kurita was making the Victors. Poor Davion. They lost the Mech named after their ruler. :-)

If the Mauler is available to us, that would be my first pick. Otherwise a slightly modded Dragon with a PPC, AC10 and some Med Lasers. Plenty of armor and heatsinks, too. Speed may be tweaked a bit lower to make room for the extra heatsinks.

WVR-7K Wolverine is available in 3050. Lovely little skirmisher.

I have 3 complaints against you.

1. You included Marauder twice.
2. You included BattleMaster twice.
3. You failed to include my favourite DCMS light mechs!

I'm not falling for your subliminal messaging!

*RAGE*

My favourite Draconis 'Mechs of each class are:

1. Light - STG-A5 Stinger LAM (Don't forget, we are the ONLY faction to possess LAMs in 3049-3050...) OR UM-R60 UrbanMech (of course)
2. Medium - PXH-1 Phoenix Hawk
3. Heavy - NDA-1K No-Dachi (only available in late 3050s though)
4. Assault - HTM-27W Hatamoto-Ku

Since melee combat isn't out yet my first choice would be the Stinger LAM, then Hatamoto-Ku, then Urbie, then Phoenix Hawk.

35 tons, 4x med pulses, jumpjets and speed. Seems pretty simple to manage piloting-wise. Too bad its 3055+ tech, and its predecessor the Spider doesn't really share the same firepower. Also good for trollin the gundam-type haters :D
