Definately more believable than the last story where an Atlas ends up killing 8 people of the opposing team with the help of a Jenner by himself on what's considered an 'Average Day' in Beta.

More stories like this, please. You know, realistic stories. On what really could be seen as an exceptional match in an 'Average Day' in Beta.

Gauss is awesome honestly; low heat issue etc.

Large lasers are also awesome.

I run two cats with a setup of 2 gauss/medium and the other 3 large lasers and an SRM. So much damage.

Just put on a slightly slower engine, and you can toss on a ton of armor and lots of dps. Sometimes, that seriously saves matches. >.>

I really just love how skill comes into play in this game, as well as how you put your mech together.

Good read.

I've got a very strong notion that the Jenner that got legged in midair was yours truly. I remember a match going down almost exactly like that. Get spooked by an Atlas, hit the e-brake, kick in reverse, **** the 180 and pop the clutch into first then **** slap the jump jets like it's got my money (big glowing red button in my Jenny's cockpit labeled PANIC), and basically eject from the combat, but take the enire Mech along with my chair, and then BLAM, no leg, and instantly wonder what landing hard on only one leg is gonna do to the other one. I hit snow, damage indicator blooms red, and then its over.

The HB pilot did it right. Let the Atlas take the brunt of an engagement as the enemy will see it as

A: The First Target
B: The BIGGEST Target

The HB can then be close fire support with the Gauss or AC20 while a Light/Jenner/Commando flanks them and starts hitting their rear armor to make them turn around.

Too many are too hot on the throttle instead of taking it slow, hug cover and take pot shots while advancing.

In short - teamwork is the key and usually gloryhounds (intentional or not) will get hammered.

That couldnt have happened, everyone was too polite! hehe

But yes that was a good story, nice take from the speccing angle.

Pug games are ten times better when people talk, coordinate and try to work as a team. **** its more fun with a bit of chatter.

I still weep in frustration at the amount of people who use LRMS/PPCs at close range and cant glance up to the blue text! hehe

I have seen this, done this, been there.
How many matches before it gets old? 1000? 10,000?

PvP must have a purpose, it must serve as the means to build the road for a company of warriors to carve out their place in the galaxy. Pvp is only one vehicle on the avenue to building an empire.

Through research and technology, the application of that technology through trade craft, and victory on the field leaving with the spoils of conflict, to be turned into money with a vibrant market, then into power through political cooperation, to claim and hold a stake in the universe, can any company truly feel they have won.

Mechwarrior Online must have these things and more to win.
I'm looking forward to them, and will keep watching ISN news for the day when they are revealed.

Yes, yes, the good old overpowered Gauss... :o

Everyone using it, because it is the best weapon you can get.

I love Gauss, too. Used it a lot with a Dragon.
But it is OP without minimum Range.

Hope sometime it will be fixed...

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

And the last story was also true - I have three 'aces' (killing the entire enemy team) this Beta, all with an Atlas. I prefer the Jenner though, as I do consistant with it, whereas with the Atlas I'll either get 8, or 0.
