That's what this... whole post...
I can't even....
New account, and first posting is in the New Player section... I won't judge.
There is much to learn about playing this game if you do not have any experience with MechWarrior games. The first posting in this thread (my guide) assumes that you already have significant experience with playing combat/shooter video games. All I can suggest is that you visit this section of the website and watch all the videos: http://mwomercs.com/...raining-grounds and then maybe re-read my guide. It could make more sense and be more useful after watching video demonstrations of the game being played.

That's a good question.
Premium Time is a block of time (3 days, a week, a month, or more) that you can "purchase" with the in-game cash currency called MC (MechWarrior Credits). Premium time is purchased from within the game client using the MC that you bought over the internet via a secure transaction form the MW:O website.
When your account is running in Premium status you will earn +50% C-Bills and +50% XP for every match. In the future, when additional game modes are presented along with the Community Warfare system, there will be additional benefits planned for users of Premium Time such as access to special tournament prizes and stuff like that, and more.
I'll add a note like this to my article. Thanks for bringing it up

If you are logged-in and you lick the "Profile" button in the top-right of the screen, you can then access a list of submenus from near the top of the screen including Profile, Credits, Stats, Faction, Redeem, Communications and Forum Profile. You'll want to click on the Factions link to choose your faction affiliation :-)
(edit - Your faction affiliation will determine your Avatar, as for right now the only avatars you can use are ones that illustrate your loyalties)
