Has anyone heard what happened to The Rock? I have not been able to get in contact with the Kell Hounds there for a while.
Also, I am looking for possible Merc. work.

Seeing that we don't have a ballistic heavy fire support assualt mech yet, the Devastator would be a good candidate for mech #16. All the tech is available for the primary config. This thing would mince an Atlas at range.

I don't believe there's a Comstar site at the Rock, it's pretty forsaken, obviously Comstar's not going to send a jumpship courier for one message unless you're paying a lot more than 50 CBs. I wouldn't worry if I were you. The Kell's are some hard fighters,(despite being dirty Mercs) and all that's out there are some second rate pirates. I assume those Mercs are just mopping up, heck, maybe they ran into some Lostech cache and are salvaging it, didn't the Wolves Dragoons initially show up in that area?

IIRC there was an Earlier version with 2 AC-10s and 2 PPCs in the Battletechnolgy magazine before the design was canonized in a TRO.

Originally Star League era, only six prototypes were delivered to the Star League Defense Force. Persumably either lost in the Battle for Terra or left with Kerensky. A low tech version was prototyped in 3033 with Large Lasers and AC/10s. Tech became available to recreate the original in 3044.

Does this mean Banshee supporters are doing their best to ensure no other mech makes it out of the factory line?

I secretly applaud their efforts. =)

For all those asking, the DVS2 Devastator was put into production with its intended technologies(2gauss 2ppc etc) in 3048 so yes they are pre clan invasion.

I believe it would be the mech 16 (TOO MUCH ISN mentions), and also first "premium" mech, available only for MCs. If not, it could render Atlas obsolete. 10 tons weight advantage could still keep Atlas afloat as a direct fire assault platform against a Mauler, but it's impossible to compete against Devastator's ballistic barrage while haveng own ballistic hardpoints in single side torso and w/o weight advantage. Looks like the Devastator keeps his lower arm activators, so he can traverse his arm-mounted guns freely. Only advantage of the Atlas would be arm-mounted energy hardpoints, useful to fend off light harrassers - it's harder to hit them by ballistic or torso-mounted energy weapon. Perhaps the Devs would grant this baby a large cockpit hitbox to balance, so it could be headshoted as easily as an Awesome or Catapult.

I doubt they will reserving any highly popular Mech Chassis like the Devestator for cash-customers, only.

Well if we go by the news date, September 3049, the clan invasion started a month ago.
