OK.. sometimes I seriously do not get why somethings get locked and yet the PONY Thread is going on something like a 100 pages.

In the last two days the Furrie page got locked down. Don't know why as it was deleted as well, but seemed harmless at the time.

Then a silly poll on silly mechs got locked.. Cant speak for the Furrie page, but the Silly Mech Poll didn't have trolling and was fun.. !?

Whats up with some of the locking going on..?

That said I fully expect this open question to get locked and deleted too given the recent standards..

Hmmm... :o

Yes the poll was just for fun.

What is up with the lock-out? ;)

Did I do something wrong I did not know about? B)

I put it in the off-topic discussion area...

This is the kind of stuff you ask moderators about in private messages.

New childproofing regulations? No kiddo, the medicine cabinet isn't full of candy... until you turn 18 and get your own! I have no idea. PM the moderator who locked it and find out.

Hey I respect the rules and the mods, but you guys are being a bit ridiculus locking all these threads, whomever the mod is locking these threads needs to ease up.

Not that I feel overly negative about the locks on total thread derails and stuff, as I run my own forum (and it can get annoying) but a few of these could just be merged as opposed to locked. ;)

ahem.. not gonna name names, but over zealous locking does seem to have a sort of opinion/idea suppression feeling to it. Almost as if its trying to stifle new ideas.

Metro is locking down some threads, with that being said, he also gives the reason why he is locking them as well if you read the last posts.

Not true, go look at half the threads hes locked, there is nothing posted as to why he felt the need to lock them down, including my thread.

but do they really need to be locked? Locking cuts off the line to further expand the idea. Its like saying, we've built "this thing", therefore it is perfect and there is no way to make it better, so don't talk about it. Period.

*Looks and counts quickly*

4 have explanations by Metro, 1 has an explanation by Ghost, the other 4 have none yet.

Was some kind of admin order given to lock a bunch of threads?

Cause it seem a little out of hand. Some moderators may need an enforced vacation.

I just looked at the topics that got locked and can see no reason why they were. There were I think ten threads 86'd this afternoon.

I may not have been involved in the threads; then again I didn't get a chance to. The reasons listed were petty at best.

I got nothing but a reply in another forum thread (that just got locked too)
stating to contact the moderator who locked it out.

I don't even know who the moderator is...so I asked the moderator who
suggested that and have gotten nothing in return yet. ;)

Listen, let me say again, I respect the rules and the mods and PGI, but having overzealous mods that lock threads for no reason is just as bad for the community as not locking threads that trash people or the game. A little bit of discretion and common sense goes along way.

The vast majority of the threads locked are duplicates of existing threads, or rehashing of old ones. I'll look into it.

I'm gonna wildly speculate that some threads cover topics already covered. Other than that some speculative posts might be hitting close to truth and would just cause massive confusion once features are revealed?
