There are so many humanoid mechs, why do we need another one?
80% of mechs are humanoid they always remind me of Gears or Unreal with helmets, It looks like Iron Maidens Eddy.
Where is the Machine creativity? What is this obsession with Humanoid Mechs?

My wife is a former BBC writer and radio host and she confirms you are mistaken.
Garth and English.... 2:O.... for English.
Can I ask for the reason for not introducing Raven instead of it? I am not saying you should say: "We are not introducing Raven, because.../ We will annouce him later.", I am just asking for the reason it was not introduced now, instead of Commando.

That my friend, is exactly my point.
Mech warrior is one of the few mech games that has Non humanoid mechs in it's history so Why not use them? Especially if they are traditional mechs like the Raven?

fun little factoid
The commando's head has been interpreted in literally every which way due to the original line-art being fairly vague about which way the head was actually pointing.
so you end up with certain versions thinking that the face of the mech is the smooth windowless part and that the antenna points forwards.
franz vohwinkle's version interpreted the original commando as looking forwards leading to the lasy soldier style head with the "helmet" canted at an angle.
and numerous other versions interpret the mech's head to be sharply turned to the other side in that pic, thus making that black part out to be the visor, leading to the ninja mask versions that are commonly seen.
Thats very interesting. You can even see the different interpretations at camospecs.com:

Although there seems to be many more with the front facing. Awesome extra info FD :-)

Relax. I'm pretty sure the chicken walkers will be added to the game sooner rather than later.

There's nothign in the 70-95 ton range, which is a big hole.
Scout's are well filled now (in comparison), Mediums are good.(for now)
I'm hoping Cataphract, Orion, Awesome, or Stalker. Won't be a Zeus because Steiner just got an Iconic mech, Liao's most Iconic mech is the Raven, so I expect that eventually, but not right after another scout. Cataphract would fill Liao role (and it's pretty nasty) Orion or Awesome would fill FWL role.

A distinct silhouette and visual design pattern allows for quick recognition and provides variety to not only the Mech's capabilities but it's visual styling. The Centurion began a design move towards extremely human looking Mechs; but every Mech before it, the Atlas, Jenner, Hunchback, Dragon and Catapault all had unique physiques. The Centruion and Commando share a simple human representation, just in different weight scales. This results in a very boring and cliche "human robot".
Don't confuse "humanoid" with the fact that it moves on 2 legs, and has arms. It's simply looking at the Mech and saying "That looks like a robot human".
But... then it wouldn't look like a Commando. How would you change it, while still keeping it true to the sorce?
