Well, sorry if this is a double post but I do not see my previous at this time, 41 go back to MW2. BT was never a big PnP for me but I played Centurion PnP for years (wish that would make it to comp) and would like to join, MWO handle is GatorG

Old guy here (45 or so)
Been playing since tabletop, late 80s. I was an active player on the original MPBT, as Sho-Sa Oakenbow, House Kurita.

Since I am father to two of them, my 'timmy' tolerance is extremely low, I come to games to get away from the noise.

Please, by all means, count my arse in.

Looking forward to gaming with some new faces/names!

So... I'm in older players group now? What a world - to this moment I was sure that I'm still quite young.

Age 27.
First contact with the BT Universe - when Battletech boardgame 1st edition was translated to Polish (about 1993).
First contact with Mechawarrior series - MW2.

And I'm not to old to play for sure...

Everyone...for those interested, most of the players in at HouseKurita.org are 25 or older and again...most of us were also playing table-top decades ago as well.

We don't have age limits, but we do have a "no asshats" rule that we love to enforce.

Our website is located at http://housekurita.org

That said, we're very regularly in force on the Unofficial TS Server and on NGNG, as well as our own server you're all welcome to join us on.

TeamsSpeak Info:
housekurita.teamspeak3.com:6619

We have over 100 members and also hold regular MekTek matches.

We'd love to see you there...

I appreciate the options, but couldn't you have made your own thread for your recruiting effort?

He isn't trying to "recruit" you, as you are already House Kurita. The website is a place for all Kuritan units to communicate, including your unit.

Count me in. 35, fat and far more often than not, polite.
I got a 1604 behind me and an intimate knowledge of the medium laser to add to the cause.

please, I have been looking for a group for so long now and I am 26, and yes I am a team player willing to follow directions, and offer feed back on the field.
Most of the time I pilot mediums, from time to time I'll pilot a heavy.

Being 61 guess makes me the oldest. I have been with the only noble house kurita . From the first time I played 3025 as draco for house kurita. . Just after it was closed I went to MW4 and my name was dc_battousai joined elite team called Draconis Combine. We all became friends and the game became fun with all are matches in first person. I would be honored to join with a mature group of young folks to help House kurita. though I commanded some games in mw4 and 3025 I would rather follow the order of any commander. Just send me a contact and we will see if I am worthy.

I dislike this whole thread for two reasons: First, I see this as putting a physical characteristic above ability. Just as I fail to understand how gender affects your ability to click a mouse, so too do I think that it should be the actions, not the age, which should be judged. If a kid can keep up, which is to say, support the team, do his job, and fight well, then what does his age matter? Likewise, someone my age - someone old enough to remember the original boxed set with the cardboard standups (we had to roll for through-armor crit in the snow, up hill, both ways) - it doesnt mean they're not going to use hacks, or TK, or talk trash. I dont have problems with my kid's peers when I walk him to school, its the jerks my age who dont want to stop for the crossing guard - its them I get into arguments with.

But more importantly, it is the younger crowd which could benefit from House Kurita. As a dad, I follow the #1 Rule of Dad - its not whether you win or loose, its how you play the game. Thats really not that far from the ideal of bushido, and if we're playing this as a House, rather than merely a vidya game with robits, we should have that aspect. My banner below translates to honor, duty and courage - lessons that can be taught even here. Now, the interpretation of this may be subject to debate - I dont accept surrenders, because what fun is that? But neither do I cheat, and when I talk smack, I (try) to do so in-character. If for nothing else, maybe we teach these kids not to be as awful as they are in other online games, which is a win in my book.

-Don
