[[well, in Damon's case...it's use your distraction to get the heck out of dodge.]]
As soon as he thought it, something changed. The comms opened up, staticy and talking something about ducks. But the mechs and dropships seemed to get the message.
At once all mechs turned and regrouped nearer to the dropship, approximately 600m to Damons 2 o'clock. The dropships furious counter-attack against his virus slowed, and that was where Damon had his chance.
Damon killed the connection once and for all. The virus, set to self-destruct, unleashed one last wave before dieing...activating all the emergency alarms. The Jenner powered up to full, ECM now struggling to return to its normal operating capability, as it turned and jumped South, away from the Overlord, away from the mechs, and hopefully out to safety.
Not fast enough.
Damon felt the Gauss slug blast through his right arm. The hyper-velocity didn't just obliterate the Large Laser and armpiece, it passed through it, and kept going. Which was lucky, otherwise the slug might've sent his mech into a seven story death fall. Damon figured it might've been one last burst of retaliation from the Overlord, but he couldn't care less. The flashing Yellow and Red lights told him all he needed to know.
If he wanted to live, he had to keep running.
[[Jammer back up to full capacity, the distraction from the virus will cease, and at the very least the dropship defending mechs are organizing on the tarmacs. As for Damon, he's taking the long way to hook up with Orc and pull out. Minus one arm as well. ]]

"Oopsies."
He mentally chastised himself for his clumsiness and deactivated his radar. He then looked back at the writing on the wall and wondered just how many turnips it'd take to fix the wall. He shrugged and went back to heading on to the depot.
After what seemed like forever [[ha-ha]] he finally reached the depot and the scene of destruction. The missile bombardment seemed to destroy everything, twisted I-beams stabbed into the blackened sky like the fingers on a skeletal hand and rubble choked the streets. Flames still sputtered in some places, in others they seemed to rage out of control. He passed by a scene of slaughter, the corpses Dalian infantry littered the street and the gutted hulk of an APC lay in a smoking ruin.
Civilians were about here, first apprehensive in reguards to the Blackjack trotting through their neighborhood, but slowly they warmed up to it. First waving at him, then cheering as he passed by. Their actions confused him, they must have had him mixed up with whomever gunned down the D-bags. Thom shruged then piloted the mech as straight and parade like as he could muster down the center of the street. He paused the music and keyed his external speakers. Clearing his throat he keyed his mic.
"Hey yo, thank you's. But dis area is still not's safe. You's should's get to's shelter."
He then hurried up and following the trail of devastation he ended up taking in the odd specticle of a multinational group of mechs standing around the broken and blasted hulk of an Atlas. He started locking everyone [[well the ones he knew, he's staying clear of the Davies]] in on directional laser comms and was about to key his mic when the flares started going off. He stopped everything he was doing and like everyone else it seemed to watch as the flares light up the night and slowly drifted back to earth.
What did the flares signify? Who launched them? Did it mean that the Dalian's done fighting? Who were the Dalian's anyway and who were they fighting for?
Thom had questions, but unfortunately he wasn't a detective and his investigating skills were sorely lacking and he feared that most of his questions would be left unanswered...
The white phophorous flares finally made their decent and everyone seemed to snap out of the trance that they were all held in. Thom took the ininitive and keyed his mic.
"So's, wat I miss?"
[[I'm sorry about the lousy spelling, no spell check and this laptop sucks.]]

He keyed the comms to an open channel.
"This is Colonel Gavin Felth, of the Rogue's Armoured Irregulars mercenary corp operating in conjunction with the Vulkaneers to defend this city. Identify yourselves and your intent here."

Draco knew that what he was doing was suicide. He turned the hovercraft when he encountered both Will's, and Rogue's forces, and led them to the Atlas. His hovercraft's accelerator was punched, and he bellowed out loud without the comms on, a war cry of a sort. Lugz on the gunner position just let the HMG open fire, but saved the SRMs, as they only had a couple salvos left. The Atlas was suffering under a near constant barrage of fire from, Davions? What the hell were these guys doing here? He shook his head and continued to speed towards the Atlas. He then saw Salaryman, dive down and hit the Atlas, all while the Grand Dragon was still giving this thing's backside hell. He watched as it returned fire with what it could, and then, finally gave in to the onslaught of incoming fire. Draco saw a man slowly get out, then start to run. He saw Lugz track the gun, and before he could pull the trigger on the HMG, he yelled out.
"NOO!!"
"WHAT?! WHY?"
"Let him go,"
He let go of the internal comm system push to talk button. He saw the gun track, but it never fired a shot. He then heard the transmission (about ducks?), and then, immediately thought he recognized the voice.
THE CAPPELLAN?!?!
But, why?
He immediately shook his head to try and get the thought from his head. No, it couldn't be, could it? He immediately keyed the comms to all the mechs he could see.
"To all non-Delian units, this is Draco requesting that you form up on me, and make a withdrawal of the current area. I will lead you guys to Phiro and I's cache outside of town. Sal, if you could, please fly over watch, I don't want any surprises while en route, nor anyone following us. If you want to stay and fight, go on ahead, but I will be trying to figure out a way to get these f****** off planet, and to get rid of that jamming system,"
Draco turned and started to head in the direction of the quickest way out of town, and awaited the response.
[[Also Azman if well played *claps* and hopefully not your last post I hope. If so, it was nice RPing with you. Man I hate losing players.]]

"I'ms Thom Frankfurt, and I'ms a badass on's vacation."
He didn't know who this guy was but something told him he wasn't gonna like him. But he stowed that thought away for another day, there was only one of him and there was a whole pack of these new d-bags... [[Nothing personal. Thom's tired, cranky and confused.]] and they had uber assault mechs to boot. Instead he glared at the Davion mechs, trying to identify the unit from memory. He drew a blank though... he had been awake for too long and he had drank many, many, beers since dropping out of NAMA.
He did some paranoid thinking...
A Fedrat intel officer, probably LOKI, a lance of Davieboys, and now these new guys, mercenaries even, all show up suddenly and unexpectantly and save the day. Too convienant.
He took a few steps back with his mech and made ready for flight or fight. He could easily jump his mech off behind a huge rubble pile. But if it came to fight he was sure he was going to put the hurt on a Centurion first, damned things reminded him too much of Yen-Lo-Wang.
"So's is der a new's war going on?"
[[G.W. most likely not going to go with ya. But it is possible to convince him to, but he thinks that Swampthing is in good condition and might go off looking for more Dalian Guard. He's not too bright, but a awesome mechwarrior.]]

Spear winced at the man's dialect. "I take it these Dalians rather rudely interrupted your vacation, Mr Frankfurt? Only war I know about is the one they brought with 'em." He paused to listen to Nathan speaking over the secure Vulkaneer/Irregular channel, informing them of meeting the man in a bar earlier and how he'd worked with them. He aligned his laser comms with the Blackjack, taking note of it's stance - knees slightly bent, turret turned so as to keep as many of the 'mechs in the square in sight as possible, the legs turned slightly to allow for a swifter jump to the nearest cover. He grinned slightly in approval. Switching his mike to the laser comms, he spoke again. "Mr. Frankfurt, I've switched to laser comms -I hear you know Will's man Nathan from the Vulkaneers? We've dropped in to defend this city, Nathan's vouched for you, and we're going to need help. You willing to march with us?"

My JagerMech was awaiting me. The Atlas was not enough for this type of threat, as it is too slow. My lancemates were getting pummeled as I thought in the Mech hangar. As soon as my mech was refiiled with ammo, I ran to the mech. As soon as it powered up, I joined the Jaguars in the fight. My first shot of my day was at a clanner's Daishi cockpit.
