which of these have feedback effect ???

This is a _MUST_ have feature for MW:O in my opinion. I loved the feel of stomping around, it added so much to the immersion of being inside a cockpit of a Mech.

I had a MS Sidewinder, but I don't know if they are still out there or not.

Cheers,

Bit embarrassed now, I'm looking forward to using my TrackIR, Thrustmaster Warthog and Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals, provided they're not lazy with the input controller coding.

Before I get shouted down, it was a very unfortunate freak occurrence that I had the funds to get this gear, and seemed an appropriate use of the money.

((Offtopic: But on the whole, I'm broke a hell. I'm someone who'd rather pay something upfront and a fixed sub rather than microtransactions, for this reason. I can support the game, without the game turning into an online wallet measuring contest. For those who may say that they don't want to pay and be disappointed, and indeed to the big man himself who said the same, 7/14/30 Day trials exist for a reason. You get to see if you like the game before you play. ))

Microsoft 3d pro, the one that came packaged with my first mechwarrior game.
For some reason I have not been able to find a joystick with 2 (or any) side mounted thumb buttons (much easier access that the top mounted thumb buttons)

I had a really bad experience with Saitek, so I'd avoid that like the plague, even if it were MWO branded. MAYBE the new one, but not the X-52 Pro (had to modify it before it even worked, software and display were shoddy, would stop working at random, luckily I got a full refund). If I had to, I'd go for the Logitech. Not perfect, but the best of the bunch I think.

In a perfect world, Micro$oft would have a new Win 7 updated FF Sidewinder Pro. And FF is a definate must have. The next perfect world scenario would be the Saitek x52 pro, but in a Force Feedback version. I will probably pick up the Saitek x52 pro if I can`t get a decent worthy FF stick. But as well will be buying the Extended Warranty... because I have heard bout peeps wearing out the bushing and other parts.

Will try it instore to see how nice the FEEL is.

I'm not going to be replacing my HOTAS Warthog any time soon. With 31 programmable buttons I may not need a keyboard. :D

... simply the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback (FF) 2 ... why(?), because the Sidewinder joystick series has been the reference for all previous major Mechwarrior games ... since the computer game license was obtained from Microsoft (MS) by Smith & Tinker it should not be too hard to get MS to support/update MS hardware with new drivers or even hardware ... if the wave of MWO will be big enough MS may even consider to role out a third version of Sidewinder (FF) 3 joysticks (as they still hold the rights to the "Sidewinder" name and it was quite popular in its heyday), how amazing would this be ;) (?) ...

... it may all just depend on whether or not the developers will consider contacting MS ... asking them, if they are willing to contribute and be part of the MWO project ...

Does the force feedback settings software still work for the Sidewinders in win 7?

Ya know I like the Logitec 940, but I don`t want to use pedals. I`d like this stick with an onboard udder control. Like the Sidewinders.

I have my trusty Saitek X52 - the original silver and black one with blue LED buttons, not the Pro. It's seen me through years of combat in the Inner Sphere, in Korea, and against the Galactic Empire (read as: MW4 & Mercs, Falcon 4, and X-Wing Alliance). I'd like to get the Saitek Combat Pedals too, but it's not a needed thing. (That being said, if I could afford a Warthog HOTAS...!)

The Saitek. Although I've heard varying reviews on both sides of the fence, it seems to be a popular stick.

I dont really care, as long as TrackIR is in.

I'd be interested to see which it is. I'll be using a joystick for sure with MWO.

I think any $30-50 joystick with a Hat, a throttle, a rotating z-axis, and 10 buttons or more should be more than adequate. The rest can be done with the keyboard.

Force-feedback would be nice if you want to spend the dime, but it shouldn't be needed to fully enjoy the game.

my vote is for the G940. They can definitely afford to brand it and drop price a bit to get the pieces out the door.

Any CH products! The same stick has been around since the 90s. They always get top reviews! (Go look at them on Newegg.com and compare them with logitech) They are made in America. Really why anything else?
