Hi all

first post here so i better point out i only post on forums after a drink or ten.

at this date i would hope the game designers have sorted out what they want to do, with the odd bit of fine detail and the extra ways to make people pay left for the Beta's, so anything said here is really pointless, but a way to pass time.

WOT is good for what it is, a grind fest. i tend to do a week or so every now and then and try to get my tanks to the next tier, but i'm up to tier 7's now on some trees and it's almost at a stop.

the random battle part for me as a casual player is fine, in a lot of games most guilds/alliances/companies boot you if you dont log for a few weeks and that is a real pain to get anything done, in WOT it is no problem, so i'd like that part in the game.

as i dont see the point in giving everyone everything on the first day (sort of like Battlefield Heroes) there should be some non-cs grinding for the weapon/tech you want, otherwise there is no feel of accomplishment, nothing like the grinding in WOT mind.

the supposed extra xp for scouts scouting in WOT would be useful here for light scout mechs and mabye a few other mech class bonuses to xp would be nice but its been a while since i played Mech Warrior* or the Heavy Gears and i cant think of how to give them right now. what i'm trying to say is in a team game only giving big xp for individual kills is a nightmare, it almost instantly kills any team play (just look at League of Ledgends) this is probably covered elsewhere in the forum but this is the first post i've read so i'm saying it here.

as for the rest of it, 4 hour scheduled downtimes that last forever, teamkilling with no real penalties, players banned for life able to open new accounts from the same IP and all those other little things that make WOT a game only worth playing when DDO and UWO are down or getting boring, i dont think we'd want here.

p.s. i dont mind cash shop in a game i like and i will put a bit of money into a game, but if everything is available cs there is no gameplay for anyone on a budget or those f2p. Type 59's in WOT might be easy from tier 7 up to kill but if your in a t5 your game is pretty much over very quickly.

How does spending money in WoT gives you a better matchmaker? The game has it mistakes (game engine that supports only one core, 0-damage hits, huge increase in difficulty once you reach tier 4, over saturation with tier 8 premiums, community relations rivaling those of KGB) but the amount of haters in this thread is ridiculous.

This game shouldn't be copy of WoT but that discussion is moot because it wont be (I am not interested in playing WoT with Mechs).

it doesn't give you better matchmaker. I've noticed what I think is a difference when I'm not running premium but it doesn't affect me since I've been playing long enough to know that grabbing two other like skilled players makes a big difference.

but as far as the frustration goes, it's not just matchmaker, it's the inexplicable bounces when targets are low on health, it's the inexplicable massive module failure and fires, that usually happens to not just you on your team, when I solo I average 3 wins 1 loss but when i platoon every fourth game is just unusually difficult to win. but I digress

it could just be that "random" number generators aren't random at all, that they form patterns and the math the russians use just happens to lump bad luck and good luck together for 15 different people at the same time. but the game is generally miserable to play without premium, and a large number of guns in the game cannot even contend with half the tanks they are put in random games with without gold rounds, bounces or otherwise.

so yes, matchmaker does its best to punish you simply through its nature if you're in tier 7 or lower which makes premium and gold rounds very attractive options. I can deal with nodamages and module failures but when you're constantly put into battles where you can't make a difference drives me crazy. and for one i'm glad this game doesn't have a tiering system, although if it had some kind of skill sorting system that would be a plus particularly because lower skilled players wouldn't be getting steamrolled and miserable and higher skilled players could avoid the stress of losing because your scout or assault mech doesn't know how to play the map properly. but that's in random fights or whatever which I usually avoid whenever possible.

i've played the game on and off for a while and apart from a few platoon matches i've only played the random matches and unless there is something seriously wrong (mabye 10% of the time) they work. I've been in battles where we are facing platoons and seriously outmatched but a few individuals (f2p or premium) can make a huge difference.

the main problem with matchmaking and random battles are those in a guild/company/alliance (cant remember which) going 'i know this map everyone follow me' and all the lemmings doing so. those that are left defending the base or 2-3 passes on thier own are laughed at and called noobs, yet anyone who has played the game has seen (and mabye been) the player who wins for that team.

WOT has a few passable features for me but this is a new game, it should be its own thing and if we're really lucky in a years time we wont be playing another game having a conversation saying (new game) should be as good as MWO just without all the problems.

actually in my opinion the main problem with matchmaker is that it lumps good players and bad players together in an indiscriminate fashion which means that skill wise teams are usually horribly uneven. when youre a lower tier tank and the top tiers on your team are grossly incompetent it usually winds up to a loss regardless of how well you do(and vice versa if you're a top tier and the bottom half of your team lemmings off). obviously there are exceptions but most games are miserable work when you have to compensate for bad players. and it's not fun for them either.

No, please don't model this after the unimaginable grind to play a FPS style Game called WOrld of Tanks!

These aren't raid dungeons with elite loot, go back to a retail version model, with Dedicated server FILES, LAN, and Client, simple, and we can mod away!

I just made it to tier 10 in World of Tanks, never spent a Dime but it felt like a second job, like WoW usd to feel.

I feel this kinda of game should have an old school leveling process, and simple Client to our fave server, no silly repair bills and epic Grinds where a person could have spent that time rebuilding one of the Pyramids of Egypt!

No dude...

I'm tired with World Of Tanks.

Ranked matches are stupid.

Why would you playing a lower tier and grinding...if you can't even scratch your opponents...
