Its funny, gears are more like Proto mechs than anything else...though a 5 man of Gears would really take it to most proto mech points. Different physics guide the universes...one is 30+ foot stompin bots. The other is 12-15 foot rollerbladeing battlesuits. Funny though in Heavy gear the AC is the supreme weapon...in Mech warrior its the Laser or PPC...in both missles are kinda meh.

Heavy Gear doesn't have space magick power generation systems, so Gears are more like IFVs in their abilities. There are lasers, but they're generally pretty damned expensive and specialized equipment.

Valid point Hana
But most times, its the stock Small in the right, mg in the left, and srm pack.
And the design shown would be with the Small Laser. I would have expected to see it with something actually looking like an MG rather than a stock laser type look, hence my thoughts and comments.

The reason that I didn't change the model from the stock is that I never even planned on using the Elemental.
It was supposed to be a Panther at first but I wasn't sure of the size difference between the mech and the gear.
The whole video was a personal challenge to get something done in three days and I succeeded in doing so. Unfortunately it meant that I ended up missing some details like the shape of the gun. I was also stuck with the original audio and couldn't filter out the AC sounds. There were even supposed to be lasers and additional SFX added but I simply didn't have time for that. Anyways, that's just the reason some small things were a bit off. I certainly wasn't going for a perfectly canon video.

Thanks Sean, I've really started to push myself to improve. I hope that with continued practice everything I do will only get better than the last.

I just discovered this video, really cool! It's a nice mashup of two things I love; both of them are stompy robots!

Hey great work! I love seeing the two universes combined. In the future do you think you could do another like this? With more Gears or a Strider to even out the playing field? Or would you be able to combine Front Mission or some of the older Armored Cores with BattleTech?
