I was about to say...Steiner Scouting tactics?
Basically shoot now, and don't ask questions later.

Well, I'm sure assault mechs can be piloted in a seamless, silent, stealthy and agile way. Speed is overvalued ;-)

That made me LOL :)

But the idea is pretty spot on. Lyran scout units circa 3025 were heavier. 40 tonners were pretty standard in Lyran scout units. Lyran scout units got lighter as the FedCom became closer, but many Lyran commanders chafed at the change. With post-Civil War restructuring in 3068 many Lyran commanders reverted back to the old-school Lyran scout lances.

You shoot at it and if it shoots back it is ze enemy. If it doesn't shoot back it is a dead enemy.

Well, there's the right way, the wrong way and the Steiner way - which basically is the wrong way but with a shipload full of assaults

if you cant handle a firestarter or comando you are just another "social general" lyran might comes from commerce but all the armor on a zeus wont protect your backside as much as cooperation and scouting

With the new super heavy mech rules maybe we can take this higher in the future. :)

Lyran guards - we can outrun most fortifications.

You just gotta love lyran combat doctrine. And it makes perfect sense, covering your scout in weapons and enough armor to build a Locust from greatly improves the chances of said scout to survive his mission.

Light... surely you don't mean Commando-class battle armor?
