A single PPc for long range fire, backed up by 6 mediums lasers (2 rear firing for TT) with MG's and a SRM6 doesn't really make for a dedicated role.
love the look of it, but never really used it much in TT or in MW4 with the mektek patches.

It looks good on paper, 'cept for those rearfiring med lasers. But those things do come in usefull from time to time.

It is a Unseen and is in the 3025 TRO, so it is actually a standard mech of the time. The only reason we will not see it is if they do not do Unseen. Personally, I think they /are/ doing Unseen, but I do not know if they have all of the licenses for all the different mechs that FASA ripped off. Would be a shame, it is a solid mech.
As for using it, it is a Assault mech. Assault mechs are suppose to man up and go into the thickest fighting, advancing toward the enemy when attacking, and if defending they are there waiting for the enemy Assault mechs. End of the day, it has maxed out armor for it's tonnage and is built to survive long enough to bring those short range weapons to bear.
Now, if we start playing and some douch stands back trying to snipe with a Battlemaster because they are afraid of getting shot, I am going to put a AC 20 shell into their worthless a$$ myself with my Hunchback and save the enemy the trouble.

I think is is the quintessential command mech as opposed to a classic assault mech but I have never really used on the tabletop (I don't generally use assault mechs that much and when I do it's generally one of the 80 tonners).

I, too was a Battlemaster fan, then mine took an Arrow IV to the knee.

Wasn't the Battlemaster one of the Reseen? And while its in the 3025 TRO, this is 3049 and I just don't recall seeing these very often during this era. I'm not saying its rare, but I don't think I would call it common.
Definitely a good command mech, but it makes a good assault mech as well. Picture it as an intelligent brawler of a mech.

This is why you think this...

They had to take it out of the game due to legal issues. Far as I am concerned, every mech in the 3025 book is a common mech unless stated (they said LAMS are rare, so I have no problem what-so-ever with their removal... they did a poor job with them anyways).
