Hello! I have completed my account to 100% and I am dying to play the game. I have been waiting weeks and weeks and I check twice everyday to see if I am accepted.. People are telling me to buy the Founders Package but I am not even sure I am going to like the game once I pay 60 or so dollars for instant access. I really want to jump in the game!. If I like the game enough I will probably buy founders.

1. how long do I have to wait?
2. is there anything I can do to make it go faster? (no I am not buying founders.............yet)

My beta status has been pending for months. If you get in, you get in. If not, whatever. My advice is to forget entirely about this until you get an email from them

2. You can improve your chances by filling out the beta info for your profile, besides that selection is entirely random unless you purchase a founders pack in which case you get instant beta access.

Gooooodddddd, shut uuuuppp.

Sorry, I'm finished. Yeah, it's all random, some get in and some don't. There's really no telling.

Its random. See it as a nice surprise if you get approved but don't count on it.

We feel your pain. A lot of us have even bought founders before it gave immediate beta access, so we had to wait as everyone else.

There is no "time limit" or "waiting period".

It is not a queue based on how long you've signed up either, and assuming your beta app is at 100%, there is nothing you can do but wait.

The beta invites are completely random if they still do invite.
We cant be sure as there are no official information about it, only rumors and speculation.
Some players have been waiting since day 1 of the beta and have still not gotten in, others got in withing a few days of signing up.

The current closed beta is not like the beta in other games.
This is an actual beta.
The game is not finished, but still in development so if you want to get into beta and expect a fully working game you will get disappointed.

The game is not feature complete.
The game has lots of bugs and other performance issues.
The game is still being balanced.

Many have blindly bought the founders pack, some have gotten access without buying it, expecting a fully featured and working game, a pre-release demo if you will.
These players have come to the forums and made rage posts about how the game is not working properly and how it will fail, but not understanding how the game is not finished yet, and unwilling to listen to the explanations given about how the game is not finished.

Many of them have falsely assumed that buying founders pack entitles them to a fully working game.
Buying the founders does give beta access, but does not in any way promise or offer a fully working game.

They think that the founders pack is the same as a pre-order/pre-purchase.
Its is not, founders packs is a limited time offer to help support the development of the game, Its actually more of an investment into the game than a purchase of the game, especially since there is not purchase required to play the game once its released.
The game will be free to download and to play, no purchase is ever required in any way.
The main problem is that what most players these days think are beta is not really a beta but rather a pre-release demo labeled as a beta as a marketing gimmick, in order to gain interest for the game rather than as am actual testing phase.
Most players today dont understand what a beta really is and have been spoiled buy stupid developers/publishers who abuses the beta term just to try and sell more copies.

In short, dont be too eager to get into beta, unless you are willing to accept that this is a true beta. For those with QA experience this means "we need you to help us make this game". Not "here's a game near release, tell your friends.

If you want to help create the game, then by all means do so.
Just keep in mind this is not just fun and games, there are actually some work involved in it

If you expect a fully working game, then you are better off waiting until Open beta or release.
If you still choose to buy a founders pack to bet into beta then please keep this in mind.
The game is unfinished and you have bought the pack knowing it was not finished and as such if you have complaints they should be posted in a constructive manner and not to bash the game or PGI for its unfinished state.
And even if you dont agree with it, you should at least take the time to listen to and try to understand when things are explained to you.

I waited months to get into the beta. I just got in about 2 weeks ago. I'm surprised I got in because under their requirements my laptops graphics card (nvidia gt 230m) is below the requirements. Yet the game runs fine on high settings although I dialed it back to medium just because there is little difference. If you want to know whether you like the game or not download the free mechwarrior 4 game from mektek. Sure it is dated at this point but it still similar in most aspects.

Just buy the Veteran pack it's 20 dollars......why you ask?

You get nothing for nothing in todays world, 20 bucks seems fair , once you get a taste of the game.

If you want it that much, I would do it

My brother got beta invited hours after he filled our his application. My friend got his about two weeks after he'd signed his.

It seems to be rather random, or they're picking waves of people with certain computer specs.

In what currency is a Veteran $20?

Just get the Veteran, it's $30. Otherwise I'd expect that you ain't gettin' in until it opens. If you're "dying" to play the game then support it a bit. I thought they've planned to end the availability of Founder Packs 2x now.
