I STILL have my Mechwarrior 2 cd's around and I still listed to the awesome music on them from time to time.

"The Mechwarrior 2 soundtrack is the score to the second installment of Activision's Battletech-based sci-fi strategy/simulation Mechwarrior series. It received near universal praise from game reviewers and has been described as one of the greatest game soundtracks of all time. It is generally considered to be a cult classic of game music."

Hopefully they can get someone like Clint Mansell or the guy who did the 2009 Star Trek OST.

I wish. But they are not going to be able to afford Michael Giacchino. :)

Thanks, Tyra. I completely forgot his name.

And sadly, you're right. But I can dream.

Yes. His music is beautiful.

I'd love to see them give this guy some work though.

I think to Mechwarrior fits something dirty and heavy... not that orchestral epic sound. I want the drums to be as deadly as my Mech. :)

It's probably going to have a gritty, epic feeling like the Gears of War 2 soundtrack.

My favourite Mechwarrior music by far is the original Jeehun Hwang score for the whole MW2 generation, but especially the original Refusal War game. Even if they totally drop the ball on music in MW:O, I'll still be happy since I can just disable in-game music and queue up the MW2 and Mercs soundtracks ripped from my copies of those games. (and some TOTALLY wrong-sounding stuff I also have associated by virtue of my parents often listening to it while I played MW2, lol)

Won't be a soundtrack if theres no ******* story or missions. no one needs background music during multiplayer games fromt the same source as the game
