Seriously though, wow... that sounds awesome. That's defantely a piece of the boardgame I always felt would improve the game.

Sounds cool but shouldn't there be three reticles? One for torso and one for each arm?

Neat. I was not a fan of MW3's free-floating reticle but this sounds like a nice compromise. It makes sense that torso weapons are fixed and arm weapons are free to target other things.

Now the option on the facebook control scheme poll for "mouse and joystick" make sense to me.

They probably made it two instead of three to make it less difficult for one to operate. You have to look at the big picture, its a F2P title. I don't think I have ever played a game with two reticles, so this maybe my first. To me this looks interesting enough without compromising user access in-game.

Exactly. I keep trying to think of how they are doing this without making the controls feel cumbersome. Like using the numpad... i dislike it when the numpad gets used for controls.

Sweet so it'll be similar to MW3 then?

Then if you keep the torso reticle over a target long enough and the arm reticle will eventually overlap. ;) Then you can make reduction of reticle convergence speed an advanced pilot skill... :D

I love this. It solves so many issues, increases the level of challenge...such a smart move.

Yeah, they did spy my thread! That's outrageous. I demand a press pass as reparation immediately! (You could have it back after GDC). ;)

arms are gonna stay linked to the arm reticle, people dont use 2 aiming devices to seperate the arms conveniently, yould need the mech auto targeting things, it would get ugly.

The more I think about this the more exited I am. I cant imagine they would have the control scheme be unfriendly to the average player and I have a lot of faith in these guys so this can be nothing but a good thing.

Although the hard part will be learning to multitask a bit more from a leadership perspective with calling secondary targets (when it is appropriate)
