Formed in 2798[1] the Ministry of Information, Intelligence, and Operations (MIIO) is the civilian intelligence arm of the Federated Suns. Its military counterpart is the AFFS' Department of Military Intelligence.
The MIIO was created during the First Succession War to address a problem with Military Intelligence: At that time all information on other realms was gathered and analyzed by the DMI, and military officers would decide what (if anything) their civilian counterparts needed to know.
As of 3025, the MIIO consists of five divisions:
  • Information Gathering Division
  • Covert Operations Division
  • Military Intelligence Liaison
  • Bureau of Internal Investigations
  • Counterintelligence Division
  • Regional Operations

Typical Liaoist misinformation. Just because the citizens of our realm are allowed to travel freely and express their minds and ideals does not mean they are spies. You are illegally detaining a citizen of the Federated Commonwealth and this can only end poorly for relations between our governments.

You ever expect any change of our stance towards your house when you keep pulling stunts like this? All you will accomplish is to prove to the citizens and governments of the Fed Com that House Liao still needs to be eradicated. It will happen, just you wait. When the IS is united again under Davion rule the power of house Liao will be a footnote in history because of your actions, ones like this.

Sounds like typical propaganda.

It would, after all, be in the government's interest to discredit Tormano Liao and his Free Capella movement by claiming that the individual they have detained (if indeed there is such an individual) is/was working with/for the Federated Suns when (of course) nothing of the sort is true.

I hereby invoke the ancient and time-honored Rule 32: "if it can be said, it can be said with a picture"...

Well, well, well, my Davient friends can not understand information in text form? Pictures... ah , yes. All right, here's video on incident for you. MI agent was boiled alive after infiltration to foreign territory. Demolition of state property reported.

One question torments me after reading your verdict: are you going to urinate on dead Liao people or not? Discussion about how exactly Davients should crush Liao still hasn't covered that important question. Should Davients apology for humiliation, tortures and genocide of Liao in 4th Succession War or they can kill anyone, 'cause of mindless minions like you, indifferent to the blatant arrogance of FedCom rulers and capable for any war crimes under the coverage of "liberation" of Inner Sphere?

No, Metro, we aren't barbarians like that.

Just give him Capellan clothes and send him to his own. He'll get punished by the way his own people seem to think is the best.

*In a deep, husky voice*

Liao and FedCom, huh? Those two are always quarrel. Always seeking for the enemy to hate. Someone to point finger at, to blame for all the troubles. Spying, conspiring, accusing each other. We all know where this leads: war. And the war would always be the time of great opportunities for the ones like me. You see, royals and politicians never wants to get their hands dirty, but they want the job to be done. Skilfully, fast, efficient. That's why they always need mercs. We have what they need: experience, courage, ability to think calm and clear, without fear, hatred or propaganda affecting our decisions. We do what we've been paid for, no questions asked. That's why great houses would need us, even lone wolves like me. And they would pay us a lot for what they want us to do. They know they have to.

A statement conflicting with the ISN report backed by an advertisement for a Terran news service?

It doesn't change my point, which it seems had been missed: additional documentation in the form of photographs and video isn't an issue of understanding, but of burden-of-proof.

Take, for example, the case of Francis Gary Powers.
When his aircraft was downed and he was captured, the Soviet Union paraded him and the wreckage of the aircraft for the world to see, because they knew that it would be easy to say they shot down a plane and captured a pilot, but the only way to undeniably prove it would be to show undeniable evidence to back the claim - even though the US government would deny the claim, those who knew Powers and/or knew of the espionage program in which he was involved would recognize the evidence and disbelieve - and even refute - said denials.

Especially in light of the... "affair" with Justin Allard, it would be in the best interest of the government in general, and the Maskirovka (with egg on its face as a result of the same "affair") in particular to have the appearance of effectiveness by claiming to have captured a spy and playing on anti-FedSuns sentiments.
And, if they can discredit Tormano Liao and the Free Capella movement with the same claim, so much the better for them, yes?

Hence, the call for additional proof in the form or photographs and/or video: assuming they actually have such a detainee, it would be to their benefit to produce more than a written statement to back the claim.
Surely, they would recognize this benefit and do so... or they won't do so, with the most probable reasons being that they either can't (because they don't have such a detainee) or won't because it would damage their own credibility (by having a detainee with no ties to the FedSuns).

Also... "Davients"? Really?
'Tis not that difficult to spell "Davion".
So much for the "Confederation efforts to advance literacy and education within its confines" mentioned in that old ComStar report, eh?

I, for one, do not believe that House Davion as a whole or any of its individual members (including the First Prince) are without fault.
However, I believe that the same is true for all of the Houses and their individual members, with there being times in the History of the Inner Sphere where each has demonstrated the ability to be both great and terrible.

However, some do have notable cases of being worse than others.
Case in point: the Draconis Combine and its execution of the Kentares Massacre. :D

And let's not forget the Novaya Zemlya Incident (the first case of orbital bombardment in the Inner Sphere, "The Capellan Confederation attacked the Federated Suns planet of Novaya Zemlya in 2399 massacring seventy-five percent of the population and crippling the planet's agricultural and industrial centers for centuries").

Or the Capella Prime Massacre ("Chancellor Franco Liao ordered an all-out laser and missile bar-rage of Capella Prime, and with it the annihilation of three hand-picked Davion regiments (the 3rd Aragon Lancers, the Findas Motorized Infantry, and the Illisen Commandos), along with more than 2,000 Capellan citizens still in the city").

When might the Federated Suns expect apologies for those?

And, can anyone give specific examples of similar atrocities committed by the Federated Suns?
