One thing I've noticed from Kickstarter is the stats that show numbers don't reflect the money spent by Aussies.

For example, in one instance we accounted for only 5% of the numbers but 20% of the funding. In others I have seen we account for up to 50% of the number and even more in spending.

Thanks to the global economy and how well Australia has come out on top we have a much higher percent of discretionary spending.

Our dollar has been worth more than the greenback for over a year now also. Luckily for us, supporting Aussie business has become a big priority for most companies. We have cash and we're not afraid to spend it

NZer here who fully supports the idea of an Oceanic server. I've had no real problems with latency most of the time. Lasers and missiles seem to be fine, but ballistic weapons are tricky with a ~300 ping. Allowing for the firing lag as well as a fluctuating ping isn't easy, and I've often seen rounds that should be on target go soaring off at really strange angles. So I'm all for something a little closer to home.

Well i know of at least 280 reasons for this server to exist from us at www.ausmwo.com , but the funny thing is, we dont really have a lag problem vs yank premades. But it matching ANZ players vs other ANZ players would be great for finding games quickly

Ping doesn't have too huge an impact in Canberra playing light mechs (Streak SRM Commando <3), but it's still enough to make ballistic weapons a little frustrating to use.

Probably not necessary to have a completely seperate server population for just Aus/NZ, but It'd be nice if Piranha could just throw a couple of match hosting servers down south and slot us into them when possible.

On a lighter note, how many of you ladies and gentlemen went Lyran because of this?
