It is kinda rude to assume that people are going to dislike this game. Lots of games come out all the time, and a lot of them have glitches out the ying, and dare I say yang. Heck it really is hard to find a game that can please people at every corner. There are very few in reality that I can think of that have ever made me super excited to play every day (well if I get the chance). Here is hoping that Mech Warrior Online is one of those games

The crucial optimistic feeling that I enjoy realated to MWO is that it - at least - appears to be something diffrent than everything else BT related we've met thus far. Especially regarding two aspects: graphics and the fact that it's going to be a simulator 1st person shooter and doing away with all that "cheating" involved in 3d person games.
That and the TRUE potential in becoming even better with the time. The huge lore and things that can be implemented. Apart from maybe WH40K, BT might be the biggest Universe out there. WoT is a child's play in comparison.

Think this article fits in good here. I've played since a buddy of mine showed me the original Mech Warrior on his computer at home back (late '80's?). We then played all the tabletop games, etc., etc.,
I don't expect miracles - but a solid, drive a mech, blow stuff up and change the (in-game) universe game. I'm too old for bloody miracles any more...

That article summed my thoughts up exactly.

I just see all these "ZOMG! This is going to be the best BT game evah!!!" posts out there and there's no way the game will ever live up to everyone's expectations. I'm sure PGI is going to make a great game, but I hope folks realize that it was their expectations to blame if they don't like the game, and not PGI's efforts.
