Sell them to be unlocked by pay allowing you to pick the tech or the mech you want, weap pack for $5, X mech for $10. Technically they could all be had for free but for those who wanted them right away the option would be there. Hell you could probably pay for all of development with just this.

2. Paint schemes that are nonstandard. $7-$9
3. Create your own paint scheme from an in game pallatte. $20
4. Personnal icon/logo on the Mech. $5
5. More bays and pilots definately!!!!!! $7-$15
6. Temporary XP or CBill boost's. $3-$20 (That way if you don't complete something in that time you just get the normal pay and XP)
Weapons, sub-systems and Mech's should only by earned through the game itself. Also, does anyone know if the scrap you can get will be dependent on the Mech's taken down or will it be random?
Edit: 7. Also holiday spoofs and gear!! I would kill to be able to have my Atlas with and evil Pumpkinhead during Oct and shoot heart arrows during Feb. Goofy stuff like that is temporary and fun!

Not a good idea changing the colours of the lasers, gauss trail n such. They should be standardised so they can be recognised easily when fired.
If it was done on the client side only then this is doable, then at least everyone else could see things normally.

- a hula girl in the cockpit would also be quite nice of course the solaris dice need to be added too
- Garage space maybe depends on price
- A contract broker that provides better contracts (more c-bills) on a daily basis if I have not time to play on tuesday I have not to pay for it.
- Premium Mechs of course that are in some way special such as the unseen (Marauder of course)
or a Mech that has a slight edge such as an Atlas that is 2 km/h faster if running. Its nice but you can well live without it. Instead being able to buy a Mad Cat for say 50 dollars is definitely out of the question since that would be vastly overpowered.
- Designing your own Mech from scratch could be a possibility but has also a terrific game breaking potential. since the BT guys would have to model it it would be fair if some money has to be funneled.
- special solaris matches: become the Mech Warrior of the week of course to be able to compete you have to pay a real money starting fee. Nothing special game mechanic wise can you get here except fame (ok fame is not something to ignore ^^) and the normal experience that you also get elsewere.
You might get a nice sticker for the outside of your mech.
- did I mention that I like to give my mech some new looks ^^
More interesting what I would not pay for:
- necessities are out of the question if you would need to buy diamonds to do something in the game and would be forced to buy em thats a reason for me to stop playing it. I resent being forced to do something. And since this is not work I simply dont do it.
- "Gold" ammunition with more power is also out of the question.
- being forced to pay real money to cutomize your mech loadout is also a no-no.
- monthly fees are also a no no (best example world of clickcraft)
- Experimental weapons; these should be available to anyone with enough fame rank and or money.
- new maps to play on except Solaris Maps but these would be covered by the starting fee.
- reloads since the commander style mech warrior can order air strikes these should always be free and not some cent each air strike.
- If you have a team for your mech (mechanic, weapons tech, engineer, Autocannon polisher...) these should also just be limited by how well you play not how many dollars you spend.
- Skills for your team and yourself should also be free.
- In short anything that gives people who use real world money an edge that people without spending money can never attain no matter how well and often they play is a no no and in my opinion also game breaking.
- consumables like a nice private coolant truck (if anyone remembers these) for real world money only is also a no no.

Like a pink colored cockpit, inc, pink curtains in a pink Grand Dragon.
Also chance to create unique Mechwarriors to pilot Mechs, appearance and history.
(As i had years ago in BT tabletop game where me and my friends had Merc combany "Bunnies from hell" our HQ was place called "The Mansion")

A player could create a really great custom paint-job, and then allow other players to purchase it. This should allow for both unique paint jobs (maybe single-run) - for those players that want a unique look, to multi-run paint jobs for corps or lances to unify their looks.
This puts content creation in the hands of the players, while stimulating the in-game market.

and the paint job can be changed for cbills in game within mechlab.
Nao, i would easily pay for 2 or 3 paint jobs on any of my scout mechs so i could have some snow, urban, ect ect camo paint jobs going on.
I realize this doesn't affect the heat signature of the mech but it does help for sitting chilly when it come to need. IDK.
nao i can see them easily having it so you need to learn and play a lil bit smarter to make cbills for repairs. This would be done easily by having someone make less cbills than needed to full repair after a battle, maybe have it calculated that they ill only reach 95% repair and reload if they right out stink big time in the game. thats fine cause you can get a small boost in your cbills right here for only X$ and you can not only fully repair now but change your load out now that you know whats not working.
Lastly id like any paint jobs and decalls be kept to a minimum meaning this.
- paint jobs be purchasable but not fully custom
- Hold global art contest with open user voting to judge and select popular schemes(also good for know what will sell)
- allow for the top 4 or 5 contest entries to make the grade for purchasing
- let those top 4 or 5 have 1 copy of their paint job free on their account and maybe a cbill bonus for the top 3 IDK
- Hold global art contest with open user voting to judge and select popular schemes(also good for know what will sell)
- Decals can be moderatly customizable.
- Moderate for racisim religious or any other things that should be banned from the net due to everyone having a soap box or 2
- leave an option for me to turn decals off while im playing (dont think i would use it but if i see 200 bleach, naruto, deathnote, ect, ect symbols then im gna click the dont show option, and probably rage a bit). This also would be nice for those trying to pull everything they can out of their pc performance.
- Moderate for racisim religious or any other things that should be banned from the net due to everyone having a soap box or 2
As for what i would outlandishly purchase for my mech, with real money.....
An underglow kit ;P

(No idea what 'skill' is measured yet so guess this would only be possible if some kind of rank or achievement can be earned in game)

- "live" or post-game text feeds a-la the old gaming center pod outputs; some type of nominal charge for a blow-by-blow record of a match, perhaps accessed via RSS? Could actually add different levels of documentation, from simple text lists (checksummed and signed to prove they are authentic!), up to fancy stuff HTML'ed webpages with killshot screen caps, or even video? Basically fun stuff for posting on your favorite social media site... would also act as a very nice advertising for the game too.
-"official" gamer tags and avatar pics, fancy ones, maybe animated, served by MWO.
-Access to new, unique mission types that wouldn't affect game balance, but might be a heck of a lot of fun. Running or gunning a gauntlet, president/VIP caravan (defense or attacker), king of the hill, etc. Either per-mission for a nominal fee, or pay-to-unlock for a bit more?
-Regularly scheduled Gank-The-Devs matches, pay to play. These will be tremendously popular after nerf patches.
-REALLY BIG MATCHES, as in dozens or hundreds of players in size. Pay a nominal fee to get in, yer done when you die.
Just a few ideas.

only if you were the defending team. Otherwise, why would the attacking team advertise themselves in advance?
Personally, given how most systems work when buying things comes into it, I would be up for paying Not to see other peoples changes.
cockpit items I can agree with, the skins I can agree with, logos I can like but anything that needs to see extra downloads for everyone to see it kills my fun I find. Taking TF2 as a example, updates nearly weekly at times, and none to to anything about the actual game, just new hats and fixes to old hats. Really not worth me having to wait for the game to update when I only have a little while to play now and then.

You realize THIS is your argument right? I mean...REALLY!? Really? You want to spend money...to NOT play a game...so you can win against people who do. There are so, so, so many holes in your 'argument' that I'm just gonna stop here. My head is about to explode with your delusions of superiority.
it's nothing to do with delusions of superiority. a lot of these things will be implemented accept it.
also it's not unreasonable to swap $ for xp.
some people have no love lives or worklives or children. they get to live in their moms basement and will level faster than most and often make the most acomplished players. does that constitute an unfair advantage? more rl time to play a game.
what i expect to see;
subscriptions offering xp and c bill boosts per game, possibly a few different levels of subscriptions.
unique mechs i.e. the founders mechs
some method of exchanging $ for c bills
paintjobs and decals
i like the idea of cockpit chintz (sorry decorative clutter)
i will surely pay $ for xp possibly for c bills also. i'm in the military and married with kids i simply cannot play as much as i would like and i dont want my gaming experience to be gimped by that. if you dont like that i will spend my hard earned cash on a game then get a job or suck it up it's sure to happen.

if the game proves to be good enough it wont matter and ofc the devs want payers more than freeloaders.

I know of several MMOs that use SecurID, as well as some people on those MMOs that could have prevented their accounts getting compromised if they had used SecurID.
I, and likely many other founder users would seriously consider buying a physical SecurID token either held by a 3 inch tall model of an Atlas or another mech, or a token that is integrated into a mech's back.
