THAT ROTS !!!!!! I am twisting in the wind!

... I hope you realize the post I made was all sarcasm. You have a better chance nowadays that a game won't support video cards than for it to not allow key remappings. (At least for any game that's developed for the PC only) :D

I forsee people abusing the LRM and Arti.. A lot.. especially if all it would take to shoot at someone is a simple lock on from a hiding scout.

It's already been confirmed. You CANNOT remap keys. You have to use the buttons they assign you, and not only that you'll be forced to only using stereo speakers (no 5.1/7.1) and your mouse HAS to be both beige in color and have a maximum of 3 buttons (scroll wheels will not be supported)

...
..
.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed your complimentary burning. :D

Which would be funny, because than all you'd have to do would be get one of the programs that allows you to re-arrange what your key presses do.

Nice use of sarcasm, by the way.

or you could excercise some common sense. lets see, they're making an mmo with cryengine 3. it'll have trackir support, cockpits, the works. but remapping the key might not be possible...

people on the internet really try my patience.

Thanks. Know of such a tool? (*readies to do search*)

Oh! Oh! I DO! But saying his name in such a Public Forum may be detrimental to our ongoing quasi friendship. LOL

Sarcasm? You? NO, Say It Isn't SO?!?!?!?!

Sarcasm noted, though I thought it was still defined. The point when you said,"using stereo speakers (no 5.1/7.1)" I thought a joke, but yhe rest seemed so plausable. Sir? Maybe you do not understand what power and confirmation your words convey to those like myself, just hungry for the truth.

Actually, I play mechwarrior 4 mercs with W and S as controls for throttle, A and D for turning, the mouse x axis for turning, the mouse y axis for looking up and down, and the left and right arrowkeys for torso turning.

I'm quite good if I do ssay so myself! ;)

Very cool post. A lot of the gameplay mechanics remind me of the old MechWarrior games. How nostalgic!

I like how transparent most of this development has been. Of course there are secrets you guys will keep under wraps, but when it comes down to the game we will be playing, really some first class information for the fans!

Interesting that a radar lock won't be possible when an enemy steps out of line of sight. In the teaser that came out 2+ years ago there are brief interruptions in line of sight where a radar lock is still maintained.

I guess I understand due to the need for "role warfare" and a need to legitimize the presence of a Raven or Commando amongst assault mechs.

I just remember the anticipation of romping around in cities in Mech:2 with empty red brackets rolling around the screen and finally emerging onto a street as an actual mech. No longer.

this all looks so sweet and juicy, but what about joystick support for the old skool fans. I keep dusting mine every couple of weeks, hoping for an update to when it will get a good workout again

Unless it's already been answered and I missed it, just curious if there will there be support for force feedback in the old school joysticks ?

I loved feeling the mech footsteps in the old MW games as well as missile impacts and the recoil of weapons.....aaah, fond memories...<sigh>.....

I knew as soon as I saw this game that I would be spending a good part of the early days tweeking key binds to make my controls as fluid as possible. I remember as a kid playing MechWarrior 2 and between my bother and father we each had our own "cockpit" from the keyboard. My brother prefered Joystick (which back then was not anything more than a stick and 2 buttons, no twist stick yet either).

This is one more reason MechWarrior style of gaming is like no other, you HAVE to make your home in the cockpit and once you get your touch/style it's good smoothing sailing after that.

CANT WAIT!

Did I miss something about a joy stick? The controls look nice but without a joy stick please no. I have been with Mechwarrior from the beginning and we always used joy sticks without them might as well have an RPG. If I missed it great. The Draconis Combine will be on
the field the first day. Message me if you were in the Draconis Combine in Mech 4/

All I am hopping for is that the all the controls are user config so I can start cuting out some mdf and bust out the soldering iron for some custom cockpit action ... hell yeahhh B)

Got a headache reading the instructions! Will you be introducing joystick controls so idiots like me can play? :)

Will we be able to remap controls? Also will have a constant throttle/ non constant throttle movement behavior switch toggle?

joytokey works well for this
