Hi All - I recently purchased a Noctua NF-F12 fan to replace the fan in a Thermaltake USB fan that I own, keeping the Fan > USB connector as well as the little fan controller dial.
My issue is that the old fan had 1 male 2-pin connector (connecting to the fan controller) and 1 female 2-pin connector (connecting to the USB power source), while the new Noctua PWM fan only has a 4-pin female connector.
Is there anything that could make this work? I appreciate any help/suggestions that may come.

Those do look cool, but I have a desktop. The fan is for user cooling/amusement.
I more or less want to know if there are any adapters I can use or if I can rewire things manually. Knowing that all is futile is also helpful.

can't you disassemble the existing power cable and figure out the bits? Get a soldering gun too. Of course, a replacement thermaltake USB fan is about $24.

I have one of those, there's also some other cooling options I would suggest. Ie. a sucker for one of the exhaust fans and also a 'cooling' pad. Unfortunately without alot of work you cannot do it. You will need to buy a fan that is a two pin in order to replace. otherwise you can buy a molex to 2 pin adapter but it will make it two, two pins I believe so it's sort of self defeating. There are however molex to usb adapters and molex to wall plug in adapters as well. Hope I helped. Cheers.

i recommend disassembling existing power cable and strap it to the cama flex - those things almost indestructible, quiet and have good air pressure.
