The HUD is awesome, but let's go ahead and nitpick now, so it can be fixed.

The only thing I can see missing is good information about the RANGE of your weapons, I don't see it anywhere in the lower right.
Other people have mentioned options for colorblindness, and I'm sure if the devs have that on their minds early enough, it should be simple to correct that.
Anyone else notice improvements that could be made or missing information? There is a lot of auxiliary information that seems like it will be in the cockpit itself, but I feel the range information should be on the HUD.

They probably have something in the works for that as well. The weapons are probably just 'grayed' out when a target it outside of the range of that weapon, really. Seems most logical to me.

That sounds about right to me. Besides that, a true 'Mech Jock should already know the maximum ranges of the weapons on his or her chosen chariot.

Agreed. It would be useful just to have a little text saying (600m) or something. Maybe even having to press a hot key to have this show if you want to keep the HUD clean.

None.
Seriously, I'm overjoyed. I can't tell you how excited I am to see internals! I can't wait until me and my friends are in the thick of it, gyros and heatsinks damaged, internals lighting up, ammo explosions... true mech warfare!

just to clarify, Tilon means the range on the weapons, not the range to the target under reticule
ie: 1000m Lrm, 800m PPC, 250m Mgun etc...
actually, PPC is 600 and ERPPC is 800 isn't it? too much time playing with clan tech lately
or even, as Mech4 done it, the weapon group indicators faded out when the target under reticule was out of range and brightened as the target approached weapons range

Danke for the first in game shot! All 's looking nominal , no complaints here.
But some suggestions. As an old hand, you feel right at home, this is easily the best HUD/Cockpit combo I've ever seen in a Mech. Especially the golden colour - like in the fiction, is a nice touch.
Well, once you familiarise yourself with the Mech - weapons, their readiness becomes second nature. After a couple of battles you know your fire sequences and you got a rotation up to "work" them down.
The weapon croup window is the biggest on this HUD, containing/displaying only little information for its size. The 6 weapon status dots beside the reticle are cluttering the display centre - esp.. if your take shots at long distances. Some HUD de-clutter options, simple on/off switches for them would be very comfortable.
Just a thought.

Something like this might be better i think.
Green Dot = All weapons in group online
Yellow Dot = Some weapons in group Online
Red Dot = No weapons in group online
No real complaints though. Nice little write up.

1: Is there a rear view camera or some such device?
2: What about people who are colour blind? Maybe a pulsing glow on the brackets when targeting an enemy? I'm fortunate enough to have very good colour vision but for those who can't see colour, how about an option in the controls setup to set colour blind target pulsing?
To be honest, I don't know what gaming is like for colour blind people but got to think of them too. I guess this is what they'd see

Actually, I know two people who can't see colour at all, but they're not gamers. It does happen.
The black part would be difficult to see in your pic.

Me too, to be honest, as seeing in shades of grey is extremely rare.
I still think it would nice to have some kind HUD option for people with any kind of colour blindness.
This is a fascinating read.

My only suggestion was to change the Weapon Group Readiness indicators as follows:
Filled in Block = All (non-destroyed) weapons in the group are ready to fire
Hollow Block = One or more (non-destroyed) weapons in the group are ready to fire.
Invisible Block = None of the weapons in the group are ready to fire.
That aside, the HUD looks VERY gorgeous. Minimal but it has all the good information where it is needed.

1 I like the idea of three levels of indication for the weapons groups, I think I'm leaning towards small box, hollow box, solid box.
2 I'm not sure about the pitch indicator but I can live with it.
3 My MAJOR concern is the layout and how it scales. Not all of us have 32" monitors and my wife is going to be upset if I steal the big screen tv to be able to see it all clearly. Can you give us a full screen true image so I can check it out on my monitors to see if I need to replace or if the wife is going to become the ex? Also How does it flow on a dual monitor or triple monitor setup?
Other than those questions everything looks great and exceeds my expectations.
THANKS

Will there be an option to change the overall colour of it? It would be nice to be able to switch from orange to white from time to time.
I often used that option in Fallout 3. It shouldn't be too much work to include a couple of colours like white, blue, green, red and maybe even purple.
Other than that I have no suggestions. This is exactly how I would imagine a real 'Mech cockpit! It looks very realistic to me.
