Hell's Elite Legions - a memo

Pin this memo to your fridge, fatty. It's time to dust off that joystick and get into shape...

Past form is not necessarily an indication of future performance (so it goes…), but you are humbly and warmly invited to sign up for HEL. We're putting together two lances, Europe and North America. With a bit of luck we can bust the old crew out of rehab, or raid their retirement homes, or maybe we just need to shake them from their monotonous and perfunctory 9-to-5. Get them back into their Mechs. Find the passion again. We need new blood too; fresh meat to feed the machine.

Background

Older now. Slower. A bit grey. Humbled by a new generation of ADHD-addled, CoD-playing, near-teens. Our gaming skills ruined by responsibilities and grown-up stuff. Girlfriends, wives, children. We still think we've got it. We probably haven't, but that's not the point.

HEL is an idea. You know what we stand for. Winning is fun and we're all about FUN.

We'll be looking forward to locking horns with our old rivals, DR, AC, MG, TB, AKA, KaoS, and the rest that will come back to me as soon as I post this. Don't disappoint us.

Hi Adramalech. Really hope we can tempt you out of Star Wars for a few evening's carnage.

Beaker, there's a name from the past! I'm sure we'll be having a giggle with TB. I've met a few of you guys in real life now. If you haven't seen DaBountyHunter's dancing, you haven't lived. Snake hips doesn't even cover it! I was best man at Jimbo's wedding last year too. He smells as bad in real life as you can probably imagine.

Ah my HELL boys. Deak half HELL mutinied. They came over to KaoS. I didn't poach them. They came to me when HELL forced them out because of BF3. But I hope you guys do get mostly back together. Playing against you will be a lot of fun.

But if it wasn't for KaoS I'd join you guys.

Hi chiXnhawk, how's things mate? I remember having some great games with/against you and Keeg back in the day! Good times!

HEL has always been a multi-game guild, so there's a natural churn on players -- either they move on to a new chapter or sadly some move to another guild. I quit as GM of HEL years ago and only came back a couple of months ago specifically for MWO. I know there was a lot of crap going on after I left; an ageing game, too much politics, not enough fun.

I know there's a bunch of ex-HEL with you guys and the Chikens. I'm not looking to poach them back, but they know where to find us if they'd like to be HEL again. I'm starting from scratch right now, but -- as I'm sure you'd expect -- I'll be putting together a unit that will be very hard to beat.

That's a pretty scary-looking roster you have!

It's still in the building stage. But we'll all be on the same page when we come for your planet...I always liked the HEL guys we played with. made some great friends and followed them to BF3.

Just to clarify Blues statement, MG went back to its roots. MG was a name we ran under in Mech Warrior 4. We have always been Black Death Union. We spawned Nightmare Alliance and MG and then retracted back into ourselves. Same gang different name. Cant wait to get the matchs started again. Good to see so man names popping back up. So much talent all be it rusty comming back to the game. Good luck and good hunting gents. See ya on the fields of Honor.
