The Victor even though it's an 80 tonner to the Warhammer's 70. I'm not fond of the phoenix version of the Warhammer.

If we're itching for a 70 ton chassis how about a Guillotine or a Grasshopper ?

The grasshopper is another favorite of mine right behind the warhammer

Warhammer is both a brawler and a sniper. Deals a lot more damage on either range bracket compared to the Victor.

Didn't the Warhammer and the Victor fight in one of the books, with the Victor literally Mario-stomping the Warhammer's head?

Agreed. The Reseen Warhammer is ugly (specially compared with one of the most gorgeous mechs ever, the Unseen Warhammer)

I know the Warhammer is armed to the teeth, but jump jets are really game changing. I personally don't like the standard Victors, but they have room for very interesting loadouts if you bring them to the Mechlab.

About the Grasshopper vs Guillotine, I would choose the Guillotine, no doubt. The loadouts are very similar, but Guillotine has more room for hardpoint goodness (that missile in the 'Hopper's head is bad). Besides, the Guillotine looks very cool and even FD can't make a not-ridiculous Grasshopper.

Depends on the terrain. Wide open area, I would probably take Warhammer. Hilly or otherwise obstructed terrain, and id take the Victor, because it could use the mobility advantage provided by the JJ to get into AC20 range without getting chewed up in the process, and once that happens, its game over, because the Warhammers paper thin armor will mean a lot of structure damage from every AC20 shot.

The Warhammer, why as you can tell in my name i like it because one:
It has twin ppcs,
two: it is faster, and will outmanuver the Victor.
three: The Warhammer was the Original mech to get things done.
the Warhammer has enough firepower to match the atlas blow to blow.
the Victor will be the Loser in this fight
Warhammers rule.

Victor, more heat efficient than the over heat machine of the Warhammer.

VS.

BattleMech Technical Readout

Type/Model: Warhammer WHM-6R
Tech: Inner Sphere / 3025
Config: Biped BattleMech
Rules: Level 1, Standard design

Mass: 70 tons
Chassis: StarCorp 100 Standard
Power Plant: 280 VOX Fusion
Walking Speed: 43.2 km/h
Maximum Speed: 64.8 km/h
Jump Jets: None
Jump Capacity: 0 meters
Armor Type: Leviathon Plus Standard, 10 tons
Armament:
2 Donal PPCs
1 Holly SRM 6
2 Martell Medium Lasers
2 Magna Small Lasers
2 Sperry Browning Machine Guns
Manufacturer: StarCorps Industries
Location: (Unknown)
Communications System: O/P 3000 COMSET
Targeting & Tracking System: O/P 1500 ARB

They both have the same speed, but the Victor has jump jets
The Warhammer has more firepower, but runs hotter
The Victor relies on ammo for its main weapon, where the Warhammer only has mgs and an SRM 6 that use ammo
The Warhammer has mgs
The Warhammer has many more weapon mounts spread over the entire 'mech
The Victor has 1 ton more armour, but this is the most armoured of the level 1 variants and the 6R is the least armoured Wathammer variant

Overall I'd take the Whammer over the Victor, as while not necessarily the most original design, the Whammer looks cooler and the Victor just looks like an up-scaled Treb. My real preference would be for an 80 ton Zeus or an 85 ton BattleMaster though.

I'd go with the Victor because I don't want to see people putting 2 ppcs and 2 guass on their Warhammers. We have enough of these types of build as it is.

Victor St. James!

Posted Image

Really though, I chose Victor because my tabletop model has a history. When I was a kid it lost it's autocannon arm and my friend gave me an Axman arm to replace it. Matched up perfectly too. That lasted maybe 5 years or so with the hatchet occasionally falling off and getting glued back on until I got a Hollander that I didn't care for the appearance of one bit and took it apart. The Hollander's Gauss rifle became the new right arm for my Victor and it looks pretty much exactly like the Victor St. James.
