Actually, there is something that needs to be said.

In my opinion, the main bread and butter of mechwarrior should not be assault and light mechs. It should be medium mechs. Mechs with enough speed and firepower.

My point is, I would love a bushwacker. And even if the bushwacker is a post clan invasion mech, SO is the awesome.

Other mechs I would love to see are:
Axman
Crusader
Hellhound
Chimera

And of course, the venerable cauldron born and black knight!

Medium mechs should be the main contestants.
But light mechs like the wasp, Wolfhound,

Templar
Mauler
Timber Wolf (mad cat), Mad Cat mrkii
shadow cat
daishi
Nova cat
I also forgot to add the Fafnir
(Mechs From Mechwarrior 4 mercenaries)

Hmm so many I want in lol! Well here's some for starters:

Owens (favorite light mech, don't ask why 'cause I don't know)
Puma (also my favorite light mech, dual ER PPC's FTW)
Shadowcat
Bushwacker
Cauldron-born
Vulture
Thor
Madcat (obviously)
Daishi

All of these mechs were in MW3, which is probably why I want them :P I'm sure that there are others, but these are the mechs that came to mind atm.

I gotta go with Timber Wolf - D, where being at range is a big problem, and when they get in close it's a HUGE problem. Or -Pryde, which is a devistating build. Still, when you need to reach out and touch someone, ER-PPC is the way to go, accept no substitutes.

Or Victor's Victor. I used to run around with that in Mercs all the time. I loved it.

And if you side with Katrina Steiner, you are just wrong. So very, very wrong. And I'll make it a point to make you pay for how wrong you are.

Just to be clear, when you say "Katrina Steiner" in that post, you are referring to Katherine Steiner-Davion (daughter of Melissa and Hanse, sister of Victor et al) rather than the actual Katrina Steiner (mother of Melissa, grandmother of Victor et al), yes?

'Cause (actual) Katrina is generally regarded as okay, but Katherine/"Katrina" isn't so much so...

Oh, and another one: the Dire Wolf / Daishi. (it should support 8 LL if setup right).

But still, the Timber Wolf / Mad Cat above all others. (it is iconic of mechwarrior after all)

I personally liked the MW3 MadCat, Thor, and Vulture. though I can see the legitimacy of the firefly as a scout. I just REALLY liked those 3, I hardly ever played anything else.

Keeping in mind that this is 3049ish...
Light - Locust... the quintesential garbage can on legs, and totally bad with a trio of medium lasers
Medium - Shadow Hawk. Here let me say that again in case you missed the first time... SHADOW HAWK!!!
Heavy - Warhammer... the game is not the same without the good old venerable whamhammer
Assault - Tough call... never drove them much in my other games... but something frankenmechish with 6 AC5's might be a bit interesting... other than that... uh... Zeus, Battlemaster... maybe the Cyclops?

I beleive that's a Daishi variant piloted by Natasha Kerensky.

I would also love to see the archer. It is one of the best mechs out there in my opinion. It would be interesting to see how it would fair in this version of MW.

Shadowhawk. If you can win in that, everything else is easy.
