I can't recall when the MW4 story happened, but it's more than 10 years from now, so I don't think MWO will be reaching that date very soon

Japan just released their first ACTUAL battlemech last week. It may be closer then you think...

An Archer also would be nice as it was a core design and *the* primary fire support design(far more common then the catapult) and a common command mech, but of course it's unseen. Probably could easily swap it with the Bombardier tho. Originally a SLDF design, it was dragged out enmasse by Comstar's secret mech transfers to the Draconis Combine for the war of 3039, along with the Thug, Flashman, Crab, King Crab and numerous other designs originally from the 2750 TRO.

Battlemaster - The BattleMaster carried a Donal PPC as its main weapon, which allowed the 'Mech to cause damage at ranges exceeding five hundred meters. For close range combat, the 'Mech was armed with six Martell Medium Lasers, which gave the 'Mech the ability to unleash a devastating barrage of lasers at short to medium ranges. The short-range firepower was further enhanced with a Holly SRM-6, which could seek out weak points in the enemy’s armor. Finally, the BattleMaster was equipped with two Sperry Browning Machine Guns, which deterred infantry attacks.
Marauder - The Marauder's weapons and damage profile depends on the long-range capabilities of its two Magna Hellstar PPCs and the GM Whirlwind Autocannon/5. These three weapons all have similar range profiles that allow the Marauder use all three of them to their maximum effect at long ranges. At close ranges, the Marauder relies on its two Magna Mk II Medium Lasers which provide adequate defense against other 'Mechs
Rifleman - The Rifleman's focus on anti-aircraft work dictated a heavy load of long-range weapons to the exclusion of everything else. It carries a particularly heavy battery of two Magna Mk. III Large Lasers paired with two Imperator-A medium autocannons, one of each mounted in each arm. Two Magna Mk. II Medium Lasers are mounted in the torso to provide backup. One ton of autocannon ammunition is carried in the center torso. The 'Mech's ten heat sinks are grossly inadequate for constant fire, but in an anti-aircraft role, the Rifleman is expected to have time to dissipate heat while the target aircraft turns for its next pass.
Locust - The main weapon of the Locust was a single Martell Medium Laser. Backing this up were two Sperry Browning Machine Guns, which effectively deterred infantry attacks against the Locust's vulnerable legs.
Goliath - The Goliath is armed with what would be considered a paltry armament for a 'Mech of its size. The primary weapon is a Rand PPC. This is backed up by two Holly LRM-10 launchers. The Goliath has respectable firepower at long ranges. When an enemy closes though the 'Mech only has two Ramsey-65 Machine Guns to rely on for defense.
------------------ Just to name a few.
