PCgamer did an article and stated that Track IR support is confirmed.

well that exceeded expectations... I still want to see a nice PPC fired, but the AC20 round zipping in and it's impact, the lines drawn on the mech by the laser fire, the LRM's arching up and into the mechs, the jenner at a quick run bouncing the pilot around in the cockpit. It's all so well done.

/why is it not summer
//when will it be summer, and so on and so forth

That AC/20 sound is one of the most "holy crap!" sounds in gaming. Particularly when you don't expect it.

looking forward to sending an AC20 down range or hearing it miss as I bob and weave while calling in fire support for that hunchie I keep running circles around while pouring fire into its back.

but even better, I plan on hiding so well and spotting so well the hunchie keeps wondering where the rain of missiles are coming from

Yeah, going around a corner in your 70% medium and suddenly, bam!, Anihilator alfa striking you with all four of his ACs. :)

I'm deadset against rampant customization. Personally, I'd rather purchase a 'Mech, then be given a choice of predetermined loadouts based on canon variants, instead of being able to strip everything off a stock 'Mech and slap on 12 medium lasers. I'd rather not take the arm off an Atlas and attach it to a Catapult...that's ridiculous.

I think the MechLab, in whatever for it takes, will make or break the game for some people.

You know, I'm with you on the rampant thing. To me the MechLab should be accurate to Battletech or every mech is an omni mech and the clans are invalidated as having any reason to exist. Though granted you could mod other mechs (there were some rules for it) but make or break? Highly doubt it. What they've talked about sort of sounds like the classic graphic mechs are just avatars of the classic games and people bought those as well as MW4's alternative. Of course if they went full on MW2-3 with it then I have no idea why they'd bother tweaking the Atlas's LRM20. So regardless of the direction they go I think most will adapt anyway. I assume Paul will spill the beans though and most of us will still find the price of the game to be good enough to try it. :)

I really like the clip where the Hunchie is shooting at Paul with his Hunchie friend and I'm just yelling "NO! SHOOT THE MEDIUM! THE MEDIUM!". I think the AC20 is turning out well...

yep standard tactic, kill the small ones first while keeping them between you and the other big mechs. Then when he has lost all of his firepower from the small mechs concentrate all of your firepower on his few heavies still standing.

Since I'm assuming the next mech will be an Awesome, i guess we'll see PPC firing then. So what about the Gauss rifle?

To add my 2 cents:

I really love the look of the game. Especially the marks lasers leave on the mechs. I wonder if they stop glowing after a while and become craters on the armor or if the damage disappears after some time?

Point of critique: The way mechs fall down after being destroyed. In the video it looks like they are pushed over like toys or like practice-targets folding together. I hope that in the final version we see mechs just shutting down and burning out (still standing) after being destroyed or slowly toppling to the ground because their gyro collapses. It would really add to the feeling of heavy war-machines. They already move like mechs, now they only need to die like mechs :)

I disagree reddragon, the way that atlas just collapses when it's head explodes is about the most satisfying death animation I've ever seen in a mech game and I'm sure there'll be tons of different ways the mech will die. But when he falls it doesn't look like a toy to me it looks like a towering 100 ton beast toppling over as it should.

I just cannot wait ... ill need an intervention after this. I quit my job when mechcommander came out years ago. (sad i know) but now ... so much greatness. and the only thing that can sum it up is this.

Oh please, don't be butt hurt about an opinion.
I was just simply pointing out that with all the yadda about how much detail and love they put into the game maybe the lasers shouldn't leave MG marks on the ground, but actual laser marks like ... maybe those in the star wars games.

, fan boys who can't even take some critic.

Ironheart, you didnt hurt my feelings.

I was just simply pointing out that since you are disappointed in the game, you wont mind sitting out BETA, and waiting for the real graphics in the final release. We want you to be happy. :)

no, it's been up for a couple of days. If you actually go to the game trailers page the video is hosted on, it's been up since the 8th.

Great video for sure. Up's the ante on the gameplay.
