Imagine, you are dueling it out with an enemy, when you call for help, they are winning and you are starring down their barrel about to kill you, suddenly an atlas falls on top of the enemy mech, squashes it, and que Teaser Atlas Video Rock music

And I have to agree, a mix between MW4 and MW3's customization is a definite must.
For those who don't understand it would basically be like this
All weapons have a specific slot they can fit into, red for laser weapons, green for missiles etc. this will restrict the madcat to only having missiles in it's shoulder pods, but in MW3 ammo actually takes up space, so you put one LRM5 and then 300 LRM5 ammo in the next slot. This I think is a very well balance system and it prevents people from taking a bunch of a single weapon and just clicking the ticker on how much ammo is in each slot. It's also much more realistic me thinks.

Really?
Man, to me, MWLL Mechs animate HORRIBLY. There's no sense of weight to the Mech, they basically float around everywhere and there's no connection with the earth beneath their feet.

Which is funny because Defender, The Lead Developer of MWLL, said this about the MWO Animations...
"I do have to give them super freakin' kudos on the mech animations. They look awesome. I wish we could do the same. The actually move and react to fire like characters should. The fluidity in their movement is enviable.
Also, with the character animation system they have at their disposal they can skin the mechs in a way them gives them a smidge more freedom of motion than we have, and they could easily make the "get up" animation if they incorporate getting knocked down.
Also, their cockpits are awesome. I'd like to see how they flesh them out on a per-mech basis."

It seemed to me that the Jenner has a tighter turn radius, likely part of the many stats that mechs will have, along with torso twist speed, max twist angle, etc. I saw that Jenner almost turn on a dime even when it was bounding around at what seemed like 50 or 60 km/h.

As horribly as this is written, there is truth to it.
I don't think PGI is using the CryENGINE to its advantages.
Simply put, they are trying to make a DARK and GRITTY game with an engine that is used to make BRIGHT and COLORFUL games.
In this regard, the UNREAL 3 engine was better suited graphically to what they were trying to achieve. The '09 trailer looks far more gritty and dark. Not only that but the Mechs looked "Metal". The MWO Mechs don't look metal to me. They look softer.
What I'm trying to say is they must use the CryENGINE 3 to its advantages.
Make the world brighter, like crysis 2. Have light bounce off buildings and mechs, have reflections off the Mechs surfaces showing the light. This is where the CryENGINE shines. Where was the sun in that trailer? Use the god-rays guys, they look good!
One more thing I noticed, the Animations looks a little too quick.
If I were Russ I would make everyone in the animation department play through Mechwarrior 3 and learn from it.
The animations in Mechwarrior 3 are the best to date. They are almost flawless.
Lastly, I think in general the trailer was great. I don't want to put it down, I think the work they have done is amazing for only 4 or 5 months development. And I know its not finished! I just cant help myself... I want it to be the best it can be

At some point a jenner fell down. The animation looked like the MW4, but there was no video of it standing up.

Don't get me wrong, I think the environments are gorgeous.
But I'm not feeling the dark and gritty in this one. I just don't think this game is going to be dark and gritty. But that's not necessarily a bad thing, It has its own style and I look forward to seeing more.

Also, I'm curious as to the age of this footage. True, it came out after GDC, but was this really recorded at GDC? We only see three 'Mechs--the Atlas, the Hunchback, and the Jenner--which are the three original 'Mechs released. This footage could be months old.

This was the footage that everyone saw everyone play at GDC.
